Cannot Delete referenced for Mod

Hi. I'm making a weapon mod and in the mod is the .upk file that has too much clutter in it. Some of it is unnecessary so I want to delete it, but it will not let me. It says that the object has references so it cannot be deleted. This isn't for a map so I can't just delete or rename a map to get rid of them. Here's what I mean.

Just rename it to some package like aaaaaaaaaaa, save your package, and close the editor without saving aaaaaaaaaaa.

Just rename it to some package like aaaaaaaaaaa, save your package, and close the editor without saving aaaaaaaaaaa.When you say change the package name, do you mean the specific object I want to delete, (example: Sound, material, mesh, texture, etc.) or the .upk file that the object is stored in?
