From the rules page of the MSU website:
"All Submissions must be the Contestant's original creation, executed solely by the Contestant, and any credits must be limited to the Contestant's name(s) only."

Does this mean if we put credits in a readme for beta testers or people who gave tech advice we are disqualified?

Seems kinda rude to not give credit to the peeps who spent time giving their opinion or helping explain something. If its going to disqualify me to give these people credit in a readme, I obviously wouldnt do so, but thats the only reason I would ever do this. So id like to know pleaaaaaaase. ;) if any of you epic peeps are around

It's just part of the 'original creation' thing. And it's 'name(s)', crediting your team won't get you disqualified.

while members of my team would def be included it wouldnt exclusively be them. I normally credit anyone who gave me alpha/beta feedback or offered me advice on a technical problem. Its still me doing everything. You won a prize what was the extent of your credits? Thanks for your quick reply and congrats for your wins :)

I credited the people on my team, including testers. That part is just legalese for "don't steal stuff from other companies/people for your project".
