The annex achievement mode helps you unlock the achievement that is most difficult to achieve. Which is that you have to play annex on each combustible and Flashback Map Pack.

By making this new and revised playlists we are able to play on DLC Map Packs such as combustible,snowblind,Flashback,and Dark Corners. This allows us to have fun on the Map that we have purchased.

Yes, I did. Now they've change it up and not REALLY for the better. People still aren't going to be playing the game type they want, when they want.

yesterday i was playing on fashback maps just to get an Annex game to complete my achievement (need 1 more map) but i have never get an annex match.. then i played guardians, submissions and warzones matches. its not problem for me because i like play any mode ...but was frustrating not to get annex..... now , with this new playlist... it will be possible to get my matches. thanks Epic for the change... and let's rock the gear.

Well, it's not really the change I was hoping for but at least it's better than it was.

I'd still like to have warzone and execution seperated. I shouldn't have to find 4 other people who also want to play warzone just to get a warzone match. It seems like the tie usually goes to execution anyway so a team of 5 still doesn't mean I'll get to play warzone.

lol im happy i get to play guardian more often now. I kind of enjoy the players choice lists though because i like the variety, which is also why i wanted all inclusive lists so that even though we've played them to death the on disc maps would still be an option without having to go to a playlist where they are the only option

Yes, to play in the map pack playlists you need to have all map packs or All Fronts.

I like the fact that epic is trying to please every body. But I feel the best thing to do. is give warzone and execution its own play list. How hard is that. Warzone and execution players are diff. If epic is worrying about fragmenting the community most online mp games nowadays show the number of ppl playing that certain gamemode be4 u select it. p.s. Although I can understand the Warzoner's being a little miffed as Execution is voted for nearly 99% of the time. I like the fact that Epic is doing something, but to be honest I very much dislike the new playlists. The majority of people want separate playlists where they can play on the DLC maps they have paid for, so why not do what the majority wants?

Now I realize that Epic must also cater to the minority as well, but the new playlists seem to cater to the minority rather than the majority in my opinion. If Epic really wanted to please their fans and finalize the playlists altogether then they would separate all gametypes into their own playlists, make them require all map packs, and then cater to the minority afterwards by creating three or four playlists devoted to those who don't have the map packs.

The achievement playlist is kinda a waste. Just play flashback or combustible with other people who need the achievement and vote for annex and the maps you need. Or play the new Annex/KoTH on map packs playlist. You're bound to eventually get it. That being said its still nice that they did it, maybe im just jealous that i already have the achievement and now a bunch of other people are gonna have an easier time at it.

I'm happy that I can now play Warzone-Execution on map packs, however I do think those who don't have all of the packs must feel kinda cheated.

I understand that the playlists in Wired's thread proposed that there be DLC-required playlists (which I supported, option 3), however that was for the separated playlists, and was the whole point of the DLC-required playlists proposal.

Gametypes still aren't separated but yet the unseparated options we do have, are DLC-required.

If you've been around awhile, you do what I do... 7 Gamertags (5 Silver now), 350 plus friends, all Gears players, filling up rooms is a breeze...

You know, I just happen to have 3+ friends that I can hookup and play the game types I want when I am online, but, not everyone is so lucky.

What about the people who don't come onto the forums to make a thread/post to look for friends just because they want to play KotH or Warzone or Submission?

What to do if you are online and your other 4 friends or so are playing something else, or not online?

Basically, I would think that a person should be able to play the gametype they want to play when they want to play it. Instead of signing on and hoping your 3, or 4 other friends are online. And if they ar online, hoping they are playing Gears. And even still, if they are playing Gears, that they want to play the gametype you want to play. Alot of people do switch up and don't play the same gametype everytime they are online.

And what about the gamers that play at odd hours alot?

New playlist is a nice chang but still, most people just wanted to be able to play the gametypes that they wanted to play, when they wanted...

Was in the Warzone-Execution map packs playlist with 2 friends all night and wait times were less than a minute in almost every case. I often didn't even have time to look at each player's stats between matches. Too bad I played like ass.

Player's choice is what I wanted since it seem like Guardian/Submission is the only gametype that finding game in a reasonable time for me.

Ya and the guardian/submission playlists are just the guardian playlist.
Why are Guardian/Execution/Warzone so much more popular than Annex/KoTH/Submission. Annex and submission are two of the best gametypes and guardian and execution are pretty decent too but its always a sure thing that the first 3 win over the second three unless you have a full party whos voting with you.

As much as I wanted the playlist seperations now I'll never get to play submission as much. By not having the playlists seperated I could actually occasionally get submission if it tied. Plus the people playing the dark corners playlist were a mixed crowd so they wouldnt necessarily vote for execution and guardian. There were some annex players and such in there as well.

That being said, ANNEX/KoTH on Map Packs is probably gonna be my most played playlist til i feel like playing the old maps again. Jacintos really the only one I miss.

Cant believe you cant play map packs online if you dont own them all (this is my understanding). People bought the packs months ago so they could play them online and suddenly theyre forced to buy the rest of the packs if they want to continue to play them. There are no release notes, for none of the changes in TU5 are finalized yet. They only have a proposed list of fixes and updates, based on popular demands by fans and their own ideas.
