Hey guys, I'm about to enter the last stage of the competition in the machinima category, but I have a problem, I made my film a while ago before the rules were set, and is more than five minutes long. It's actually ten minutes long.
So I need your advice, should I make a shortened version or split it and submit only half of it?
Here's the film, so you can watch it: http://www.yetzero.cl/english/exodus

By the way, I haven't read anywhere if it's a requirement to submit the source files for execution, that would be a problem, there's a lot of packages (about 4 GB).

I have to say, it was quite good. I see your problem, however. If you cut it in half, then you have two parts, of which neither is particularly strong. Together it is good, but in halves it's not as impressive to just see one half and judge on that. On the other hand, I feel that it was a condensed storyline to begin with, so it would be hard to make it shorter without making significant sacrifices. I don't know what to tell you, other then keep working on it, you'll find a way.

That said, I don't think you have to submit the source files. The winners in the passed usually don't.

Whatever you decide to do, you did a good job on what you have.
