So most of use have downloaded the Dark Corners Map pack, and from what I hear most of are pleased with the purchase. Best map pack to date in my opinion. I could help but notice however each map has such a drastically different flow to it then the next, some are better on some gametypes then others.
Whats your favorite gametype for each of the new maps? Feel free to leave any explanation why.
All Fathers Garden: King of the Hill. The maps is a little too big for annex players tend to run off and do there own thing. Warzone/Execution tends to play out identical every time so far.
Highway: Guardian. This was a close one, it was that or Annex. Plenty of hiding spots on this map and plenty of flanking opportunities. Every game has played out different.
Memorial: Warzone/Exe. Beautiful classic Gears 1 feel to this map. I haven't played anything other then elimination game style on this map yet so its hard to say if I wouldnt like Annex more.
Nowhere: Horde. What can I say, after 50 waves it kinda grew on me. Especially when you can actually get into the dinner in horde mode.
Sanctuary: Warzone/Exe. Talk about nostalgia, this map screams Gears 1 (with good reason :D ). The map does a great job of spreading teams out evenly with a power weapon on each tier. Lots of corners to hide behind while trying to flank your enemy. But whats with Boltok swapping with Mortar? WTF?
War Machine: Submission. I hate to say it but this map has lost its charm from Gears 1. With the combination of boom swapping with torque and grenades closer to spawn, it completely changes the way it plays out comparatively. In annex it encourages spawn killing, and boomshot ruins Warzone/Exe. Some things are better left alone :(.
Way Station: Warzone/Exe. I cant explain it, something about this map just feels right in Warzone/Exe. The 2 torque/snipes in separate rooms, and one giant room up above is just plain fun. Plus lots and lots of flanky opertunities.
