Chainsaws...

ok im sure im not the only one who has noticed this, but you cant down peoples chainsaws anymore..? its really annoying being a gears fan knowing that in gears one that your could down chainsaws when people blindly ran at you with their chainsaw revving. but now, no matter how much you shoot them, it doesnt get downed..? thats GAY im sorry but its the only aspect i absoultely hate about the game. im not saying its a bad game or anything, but its just the one flaw that sometimes deturs me when thinking about what game i should play. now im all for downing the chainsaw because i use a hammerburst. but please, people who cherrish the lancer, and do nothing but chainsaw people, please dont come in here and call me "hammerburst noob" or say things like "its too hard to chainsaw people when they can down your chainsaw!" hoesntly, I dont care. i just want to know if Epic wanted this, or it was just a forgotten aspect of the older version? and it makes me mad because i alredy had the Rest Glitch happen so now its nearly impossible for me to level up because each time i finish a game, i get -3000 points for a "unfinished match" and also another -1500 for unknown reasons. please Epic, could you guys do SOMTHING about the Rest Glitch, and give me feedback on the chainsaw thing? im pretty sure im not the only one that finds the consistant chainsaw disasters that occur every game.

I think that they should take out the chainsaw, but I have still been able to down the chainsaw, but only with the shotty and you have to be a few feet away, to close and they still get you. To far and you don't do enough damage. The chainsaw is weak. No skillis required to hold a B button.:D

i used to love the saw, but latley i have noticed WAY to many people use the thing, i was playing a game of annex a few days ago and i broke the annex i had 3 people from the other team run up and saw me in half, i think the saw is almost as annoying as the 2piece anymore

The chainsaw is not that much to lower with a average or good connection. If you want people to take this seriously, show a video where the chainsaw is too powerful. I bet it's because you are either too lagg,(because then you should be mad about lag), or you are not experienced enough yet to dodge or kill a chainsawer. If you good, you can dodge and shoot. Leave the lancer alone. Even when i get sawed, i don't blow up and complain on the threads, i adapt, and whatever i did to get chainsawed, i don't do again.

You have 1) A shotgun, which should be able to kill the saw easily, especially combined with rolls and 2) a ranged weapon, either a hammerburst to down him before he can say 'zomg', or your own lancer which has massive stopping power (in terms of stopping ALL his movement). And if he touches you with the saw, you go to a B button mashing contest, so you have equal chance to kill him.

All in all, chainsaws are fine. Just adapt and see what you can do better, because I sure as hell am not getting chainsawed.

i like the chainsaw...mainly using it if I'm sneaking around corners and stuff. I don't see why people moan about it. It's there to be used, skill required or not. If you don't like them don't get infront of one lol!

If you want people to take this seriously, show a video where the chainsaw is too powerful. the saw used 2 be cool when it was hard to use. now EPIC is only concerned with new players. New players tend the chainsaw so they made it harder to down. its called EPIC is holding hands with new players and not caring enough about vets. same thing happended to the melee with Halo 3. It is a prime example that people should have to b pu up with being raped over and over until the get good. its how i learned to play gears 1. now in gears 2 anyone can kill anyone. its stupid.

Like really people were only pushing buttons here, theres no "skill" involved. your right but it does take awarness and maybe the people who use the chainsaw are trying to have fun go try and use the lancer in public its not that easy using the shotgun is alot easier then using the lancer

i think the chainsaw is properly balanced, i mean, yeah its easy to get a kill, but if your just aimlessly chainsawing people, yea you'll get killed, but that person is getting killed right after that because it leaves him/her so vulnerable to attack. on the other hand, if your playing in stealth, creeping around corners and catching the people that are alone, then you've done your job with Skill, technique. because, once you've hunted down your prey, who cares how you kill them? the fact is you did it and got away with it cuz your still alive to sneak up on the next person and do the same damn thing.

i have definitely noticed the fact that no matter how great of a connection i get in any match. whenever rushes in with the chainsaw revving they can be a FOOT away and suck me in and split me in two!! its very ridiculous, when its execution and cant even respawn

I believe the Chainsaw is the most OPd weapon in the entire game..
Chainsaw users are the only once that really annoys me and pisses me off in this wonderful game. It's even worse than being supermaned and get humped for the seconds left to respawn. I mean first, it takes forever to down the saw, secondly you can dodge the player with some feet and STILL get chainsawed. Thirdly you don't have a chance in small spaces, they rev it, you shoot, nothing happens and you can't dodge due the lack of space, bla you are sawed without a proper and even fight. It takes zero skill to kill someone with the chainsaw, and if you decide not to fall to the chainsawers level there is not chance to have a "chaisawduel" with another weapon than the lancer equiped.

I think that they should nerf the hell out of the chainsaw, or even remove it cause it destroys the game from being the funniest online game ever to a noob chainsaw party..
