I just bought UT3 after playing it for free for the weekend in Steam and I'm enjoying the game.
One little thing bothers me though. Is it not possible to change hoverboard stance? In real life, I skateboard / snowboard in regular stance, but for some reason all players in UT3 hover with their boards in goofy stance and it doesn't seem possible to change the stance. It just feels wrong to use the board in goofy stance for me, so I'd like to switch the stance.
Would it be possible to implement regular stance hoverboarding possibility in the future? Or have I missed some setting?

you can't change your stance but most players like myself, bend on the hoverboard by pressing c on it :)

Also keep in mind that many of the UT3 characters are a lot more graceful looking on the hoverboard than others. While the Krall look really awkward on it, the Liandri robots look especially good. If it bothers you that much, I would try switching around your character.
Also, crouching, like MTV said, helps you build up speed faster on the hoverboard and keeps you more in-control. Personally, I find the default control bound to "C' as very awkward and annoying, so I've bound it to Left Shift. It makes it easier to crouch and then Jump with the Spacebar. Hope some of that helps.

I snowboard regular foot, but the stance in UT3 has never bothered me.

You can hold left click or right click while on hover board and jump to do some moves.
Crouch while on the hoverboard and hold "A" for left and "D" for right then release the crouch button and you'll have some other stuff.
Also you can combine both direction keys ("D" and "A") and the left/right clicks to do more phunky moves... you gotta check all of them and be carefull cuz sometimes you will fall off the board if you miss the right timing.
That's all i know :)

You will only fall if you are doing a board grab (mouse buttons) when you land. Also, avoid doing tricks when being towed by a fast vehicle. I did that with a scorp and was thrown on top of it :P

Yeah actually once i was just a few meters away from the flag and i just released the crouch randomly and found my self on top of a red manta... was funny i fell off the manta and immediatly capped the flag :D

While hoverboarding, double tap left or right for a dodge. Usually if you are under fire though, get on foot fast, if you get shot on your board.... faceplant!
