Bots dont play the same as people online, they use different tactics to people online and people online can predict your moves etc. bots cant really do that stuff.

If you can do well against adept bots, you should do fine. Just keep in mind that there is no comparison between bots and live players. Live players do unpredictable things, make unpredictable decisions, change coarse suddenly and without any seeming logic behind it which makes playing live players infinitely more interesting and rewarding.

I only play online , from the start , I haven't even finished the offline campaign mode. :)

I recommend beating the campaign mode, then you will have a basic understanding off the weapons, all the maps, and the different gametypes.
Bots are good to practice your aim, but you need to go online to really improve you skill. Don't get discouraged if people kill you alot, I mean every 5 seconds. We have been playing for awhile and you will improve faster if you play harder people. Good luck! You can even watch how other people move and what weapons they use in certain situations and learn from them. :)

Yep. Offline and online are worlds apart, but after playing online a while you might begin to wonder how you ever enjoyed playing offline. Playing bots is so one-dimensional. I love the unpredictability and creativity of the human element.

Depends on the level of play, there will always be newbie servers and there will always be godlike servers. If you are finding yourself getting beaten to a pulp either try to understand how they're doing it and do that or change to an easier server. ;-)

Playing bots gives you really bad habits that will make you an easy target online. I'd suggest that you just forget about bots and stick with online play on a quality server with good players. :)

Jump into an online game, play, get trashed into the ground, play even more, improve, ask for advice, get trashed into the ground again, play even even more, improve more, trash others into the ground.......
You get my point. Online play is the way this game is meant to be played.

The difference between a good player & a good bot is the player will beat you fairly, a bot does not.
Online play is much more fair and rewarding, the bots span from being incredibly easy to just cheating from one skill jump in UT3.

Good aim, strong weapon and vehicle knowledge, decent strafing and dodging ability, quick reaction time, the ability to make quick decisive decisions and a good knowledge of the maps and the ability to handle varying pings.
These are the things you need to do okay online, it has nothing to do with whether you play bots or not!

Don't worry about being average online - it's all about the fun.
UT3 seems to be pretty well stocked with people who are good natured - at least that's my experience.
If I'm doing something silly, an experienced player will point out what I could better - they want you to be better so they can have more fun - it's a symbiotic relationship really.
Jump in, give it a go - asks questions - most people are willing to help if you don't come across like a know-it-all

Fighting bots is only good for developing basic twitch reflexes. People take advantage of the maps and their circumstances in a lot more ways than the bots can.
To do well online you have to pick up on what the other players are doing. Twitch reflexes help, but there's more to it than that.

Quoted for exceptional truth. SPECTATE. Seriously, when I switched to War from CTF/DM, despite having core UT skills guess what I did... I sat in spec (and got demos from a friend).
I just watched players who seemed to be doing well... then first off, I literally copied their "style/tactics". Then after you get comfortable, branch out to other positions/styles. Learning is learning, no matter what the medium. Imitate, then innovate.
