I was excited about TU3.
The rank change is perfect, and it adds some taste of addiction into GOW2 if you ask me. I think it's dull just having numbers by your side but it was sure better than the original rank idea. Though, what bugs me is that I'm currently a rank 5, and I keep getting paired up with experienced players like rank 16 through 20. I like the fact that you get demoted from a loss, but it's retarted to lose exp like that in wingman. Whatever, the new rank system is balling.
At the first match I had, I noticed the region preference right away. Two guys on my team both had "NJ" on their gamertag. The region preference was a success, I too live in NJ.
The melee/chainsaw delay is perfect. I love seeing two-piecers just charge at you and then just stand still infront of you for about a second. What I don't understand is that if they took both shooting and melee a delay after roadie run/roll, why not keep it the way it was? After TU2, I was extremely pissed when they took out the shooting and rolling-thing.
Lag is still around GOW2 and I'm honestly sick of it. Sure it really lessened, but I still see a laggy game with crazy host advantage. EPIC, if you want to fix lag for good, change the matchmaking system like in GOW. Or keep the ranked search matchmaking and just add player matches. Change the host selection system!
I love what they did to lagswitching - props to Joe Graef! You supposedly earn 0 exp at the end of the match and never able to become host again. But there's a flaw to it. People who lagswitch usually has a good hosting connection, so if enough people lagswitch, the people with the bad connection will be drifted to become host. And that's BAD.
Smoke grenades, good job fixing the glitch with the stairs and sh*t. I HATED THAT SO MUCH.
I still believe that people will find out a way to get around and bridge/standy once again. I think the update was good, but it seems like the game could've been just like this if they waited longer for testing, beta-testing, adding a multiplayer demo and all that stuff. This is how the game should've been from the start, I hope TU4 does a better job than this.
I still have hope for EPIC, and hope runs deep.
