hi,

i was thinking about joining the contest but judging by the rules MakeSomethingUnreal seems like it is only for US citizens

i am a citizen of germany, does this mean that i couldn't participate no matter how good my mod was ?

that would really be a shame but anything that could clear this up for me would be appreciated

thanks

There are a bunch of germans participating in the contest.
Everything else is covered in the contest rules. http://www.makesomethingunreal.com/rules.aspx

I am quite sure this is not exclusive to the states as some of my CBP buddies who live in other countries have entered and won prizes.

Yeah, the rules make it pretty darn clear. This is taken from the VERY start of the rules:

The $1 Million Intel Make Something Unreal Contest (the "Contest") is open to individuals (or "Teams" comprised of individuals, as listed below) who are at least 18 years old and who are lawful residents of the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia or Canada (excluding Quebec) and can speak, read and understand English. The Contest is also open to English-speaking persons, at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in jurisdictions where the age of majority is over 18 years and where such Contest is legal), and resident in a non-U.S.-embargoed country ("Contestant").

I had a good laugh at the way they listed Canada made it sound almost like it's just another US state or district . Heh, I also got a good laugh at the fact that people in the Congo can submit to the contest (if they speak English) but not people in the Canadian Province of Quebec for some crazy reason.

But anyways, so long as your country is not under a US trade Embargo, and you can write and speak english, you can enter...

Unless you're from Quebec ;).

That's silly. We pay everyone within a week of receiving completed paperwork.
