Is there anyway to scale the light icon to make it bigger?

I have a hard time finding my lights again once I create them. Also is it possible to select or search for things by name or object type in scene?

Go to its properties and under display, look for draw scale.

Also, to find actors open the Generic Browser and switch to the Groups tab. Select the appropriate group and then find it by actor type. This is made easier if you separate your actors into groups as you build the map. This is also incredibly useful for when you want to change the properties of a large number of objects. For example, if you're creating a red/blue lighting scheme for team sides, you put the two different colors of light into two groups, RedLights and BlueLights. Then, you can go back and tweak the color of the lights all at the same time.
