View Full Version : I found a way to reduce about 50% of the LAG

So i was playing a match on Jacinto when i noticed that if you point the camera at all the gore on the ground it begins to lag horribly, not sure why maybe the 360 cant handle it IDK. So i turned gore off and waited for the gore on the ground to disappear. After that my lag was reduced significantly. If you think im lying turn your gore off for just one game and youll notice the difference. The only down side is that, well, gears is all about the gore but at least you wont lag as much....
TO CLARIFY: What I meant was that both the frame-rate drop and lag work against you in a game.

Yeah, private games on canals the frame-rate (not lag) is destroyed after about 10 minutes of bodies everywhere.

Thats what im saying it contributes to the lag. Its like two things working against you.

That is graphical lag, not network lag.
The main 'problem' with the multiplayer is network lag.

Sorry you fail.
Latency and frame rate are two entirely different things.

Thats not lag that framerate dropping. Lag is when the connection itself lags you.

Framrate can still cause you to be unable to shoot somebody in the head... that is what the person is getting at... the OP did not fail as some of you [ignorantly] pointed out.

In what you're describing, there's no delay; if you fired bullets they would still register as they should. It just looks like lag.

I agree and approve this thread. However, I just can't play without the gore.
It has nothing to do with my fascination of body parts exploding everywhere (although I admit that I love it to pieces), but I just go so used to using the gore to recognize when I killed someone that the non-gore animation really started confusing me. It's very different and extremely inconsistent; sometimes the player would fly back and to the ground, but other times it would look like he got hit with a stun nade. There was more than one instance in which I was shooting a dude on the ground over and over when he was already dead. For the most part, the HUD on the bottom-left is a good tool but when you are in the sh*t-storm and the enemy is all around you, it's hard to keep track of it.

You said on Jacinto and I got really happy... Last night I played a game on Jacinto, in which there was NO lag, I even thought I was host, then the round ended and I could melee. I'm sincerely hopeful that's how it will be after TU3, It would be very awesome.

I understand what you're saying. Some people have a hard time thinking outside of the only world that they know. Network lag is lag. Frame rate lag is lag. Lcd tv lag is, guess what, lag ftw! The guy is just trying to say that all of these things contritbute to the player not know WTF is really going on on his end of the game. LAG IS LAG

I have always been for turning the gore off, besides various lag issues, i feel it puts you at a disadvantage with gore on. Having blood spattered all over my screen screws with the view and alignment of enemies. With gore off, my screen stays clear with 100% visibility no matter what.
That being said, its no where near as satisfying, headshotting individuals with the gore filter on as they just fall over :(

Glad you said, it I didn't want to bother typing all that at all.
I find it hard to respond to the trolls that a) don't know what they are talking about and b) don't revisit threads that they've stupid-bombed anyway.
