-a peacefully end

It should end with an all out battle between the locust and humans.
Obviously =D

I am not entirely sure, but I just came up with a new idea.
The COG obviously have the capacity, and some good knowledge about space. Maybe they will realize the Horde is unstoppable, and they will escape into space in a desperate, last ditch attempt at survival?
Or maybe the COG win, but the cost is so great, they find out that humanity will die out regardless (For whatever reason. Maybe not enough to successfully restart humanity? Maybe they are infertile becuase of immulsion fumes?). So they win, but you find out it was all for nothing in the end. It could zoom to a few thousand years in the future, where the last remaints of COG civilization are crumbling, and it could zoom in on a statue of Marcus, with a COG symbol on it. Then you could hear the earth shaking and a Locust pops out of the ground. It could then zoom out and you could see thousands and thousands of Locust pouring out of the ground before the game ends.

Cool, I like your idea there. But seeing as how this game is kind of about hope, I think while it won't exactly be a peaceful ending, it will certainly be a tension filled ending. Like this:
The Cog team up with the Locust to end the Lambent threat. Initially when the battle starts, COG and Locust forces are both butchered by the mutated Lambent who are stronger due to said mutations. When all seems lost, Adam Fenix appears beside the Locust Queen and announces that he has the cure that will stop the Lambent from (insert cure effects here). Marcus and the Crew then find Adam Fenix, and question him about where he was, how he got here, why is he working with the Locust, etc. Adam refuses at first but then after some badgering, he finally let's up and decides to tell everyone what's going on. Before Adam can tell the Gang what he's doing with the Locust, COG forces descend upon the Locust fortress and open fire on all Locust forces. Marcus contacts Control through JACK and asks what's going on. Anya tells him that Command decided that since Adam Fenix has a cure, they don't need the Locust. The Queen then orders the Palace Guards to open fire on Marcus and the Crew. While behind some cover, Anya tells Marcus that Command has ordered all COG soldiers to pull out before the Satellites bombard the fortress. Marcus and Crew are about to get out when Adam suddenly stops and asks Marcus if Humanity is really worth saving. Marcus asks him what he's talking about. Adam tells him that Humanity is just as horrible as the Locust or the Lambent by ensuring that only we survive the end. Marcus tells him that they can talk all about it back at base but Adam refuses and when he says Marcus' desperation to survive, he gives Marcus the cure. Adam says "Use it, if you really want to" and walks to the fortress. Marcus tries to stop him but Dom pulls him back and they escape in a Kind Raven and watch through JACK's zoomed view as Adam is engulfed by the Satellite's Orbital Weapon. Marcus heads to Command to talk to Hoffman only to be stopped by Chairman Prescott and his troops. He demands that Marcus give him the cure. Marcus is hesitant but decides to give him the cure. The Scientists find a way to duplicate the cure and adapt them into Missiles, Similar to the Lightmass bomb. The COG cheer as the missile is launched into the bulk of an advancing Lambent horde. The COG then rush into battle with everything they have. The "cure" has a side effect of creating even more powerful mutated Lambent horde which proceeds to slaughter the COG troops. Marcus and all other surviving COG forces then proceed to defend the base in a last stand attempt.Baird is wounded and so Cole decides to cover him. Marcus then hatches a plan to head to the ruins of the Locust fortress to find Adam's plans since Adam was working with the Locust before. Marcus, Dom and Clay Carmine head to the ruins and fight off some Lambent forces roaming the area. They dwelve deeper into the fortress and find that the "cure" was never a cure, in fact, it increases the amount of Lambency in a mutated host. They then discover that if enough of the "cure" is spread through the body, it will eventually destroy the Lambent creature. The Gang gets back to base which is starting to fall apart and find some scientists. The scientists then theorize that while it may kill the Lambent, the amount of dead Imulsion cells in the aftermath could potentially turn this area of Sera, completely inhospitable. Marcus and Dom argue about whether this is survival of the species or a genocide.
Okay, this is getting pretty long, so I'll finish it later.

Your Idea sounds more like a movie script then a Video Game one. But it is awsome.

I liked the ending from rocket bomb that would be awesome, but i think they might go along the lines of the matrix and call a truce, hope they dont but i think there could be a possibility there.

It should have a romantic ending, with Marcus finally expressing his repressed feelings for Anya, and her cordially accepting and reciprocating his undying love.

Obvisouly the ending will not be a proper ending as it will leave more questions for Gears 4 (who said it would npt happen?) and massive hype about a cliff hanger ending. I doubt very much if Marcus will die, maybe Epic will play on this alot just like Bungie did with 'A hero never dies'.

I want lots of guns. More huge effects of giant guns [artillery anyone?] that you get firing near you and lots of large, real life, "Oh SH*T!!" explosions. I want the camera to shake, Marcus to stagger, the bombings to be random and possibly screw you up/help you. I want it realistic.

I think it could end in space.because gears 1 was mostly street combat.gears 2 mostly you were underground so in gears 3 it would end in space
