View Full Version : Chainsaw update glitch?

I play horde online and use the chainsaw a lot. Since this latest "update" I've noticed two serious problems when trying to using it.
1) An invisible force field will stun me backwards when approaching enemies with my chainsaw revved up. For example, on several occasions I've approached snipers while they were reloading for an easy kill. But instead I was magically stunned backwards while the snipers were doing nothing but thier reload animation.
2) If a charging horde enemy approaches me with a chainsaw revved up, I can usually equip my chainsaw, rev it up and initiate a duel. But now, I can't do it for whatever reason since my guard magically drops down while pressing B. They don't shoot me to lower my guard. And even if they did, that's ridiculous seeing as how on every other occasion before, I and enemies alike could storm through several bullets for the sake of getting in a chainsaw kill. After a certain distance bullets make little difference. You know you're in CQC territory. But now charging lancer enemies are almost invincible at close range thanks to this cheap, unbalanced glitch. At least before if you equipped a lancer yourself you'd be on more equal ground. Not now.
I hope this will be fixed soon. If the changes were for meant for warzone, guardian, etc. matches then fine. But against the CPU it worked just fine how it was before.

Well a second ago me and my last remaining teammate were killed by a single charging chainsaw enemy on horde. By the time I noticed he was approaching I unloaded over half a clip of my lancer into him but he kept charging. Nothing new there considering it was stage 29.
But now as he gets closer I know he'll cut me down unless I rev my chainsaw as well. AGAIN, I can't do it for whatever MYSTERY reason. So I roll out of the way. In the few short seconds it takes for me to roll once and try and shoot back he shoots me down. My partner doesn't help me (bad move!) though he's standing right there and instead tries to shoot him down with his own lancer (worse move!). Of course the enemy charges through his bullets as well and chainsaws him in half.
I don't care that my bullets are less effective on enemies than theirs are on me. I don't mind that chainsaw hordes can charge through a ton of bullets to try and cut me down. BUT I DO CARE that this last update seemingly takes away my ability to defend myself using my own chainsaw. When I press B it SHOULD work like it's supposed to.
EPIC fix this b8llsh%t glitch that was not a problem before the update.

Epic for some reason doesn't want to nerf the chainsaw or even fix it. All it's doing is promoting noobish crap and ruining the experience for people who freaking bothered to learn how to play. I don't use the lancer unless I'm out of Hammerburst ammo. I can stop at the most 2 guys charging me with chainsaws but when it's the entire other team... that's just unbalanced.

No joke. It shouldn't be nerfed necessarily, but at least make an equivalent to the duel for other weapons. ESPECIALLY HAMMERBURST! These are the 2 primary weapons and one is helpless against the other... great balance.

Thanks for the responses. But to be clear I'm talking about play against the CPU on horde. I don't play warzone, gaurdian, and other PvP matches so if you're saying people are spamming the chainsaw on those modes then I understand Epic trying to balance things out.
But on horde mode against the CPU, they've pretty much made it so that the CPU can now deliberately spam the crap out of the chainsaw at its own choosing while taking away my ability to defend myself with my own chainsaw. In other words, the update has diminished players ability to use the chainsaw but not the CPU's. Which by default gives the CPU free reign to charge in and saw away. At least make the changes across the board, to players and CPU alike.
I don't use the hammerburst so if you're saying you can stop about 2 enemies at close range then good. But throw in the scenario I was talking about earlier. Stage 29, horde, increased health and damage for the CPU, and you have two enemies left. At 5 left you know the CPU makes a last ditch effort to charge in and kill you. Most people in my experience die when there's 5 or less enemies left. So now at close distance (in my example the size of the gated bunker on security) from the moment the enemy charges in, I think it's TOTALLY unfair that the cpu can run in without firing a single shot at me while I try to rev my chainsaw and cut me in half.

I hate it when the AI shoots through its back. I've seen it.

I've had this problem too. When trying to chainsaw guys, usually drones, I get reflected back by some unknown force and i know i wasn't shot cause alot of times it's the last drone alive. I haven't noticed this problem outside of horde but i find it all the time in horde to the point of no longer using it at all.
I do think they should bring back the chainsaw from GOW1 it was balanced then, it was eitehr a hit or miss move. You ether got the chainsaw off or they discovered you, shot you , then killed you. An insta kill move should have severe consequences for failing.
