I'm 90% done building a PC and I want to use it to play Gears for PC, but I have 2 questions. Thanks in advance for the help.

Does it work on Vista Ultimate 64-bit? (I don't see any reason it wouldn't).

More importantly, will the following Video Card specs meet/exceed the GeForce 6600+ requirement (I would assume 9500 GT would exceed the 6600+ req. but just checking):

Model EN9500GT TOP/DI/512M

Interface
Interface PCI Express 2.0 x16

Chipset
Chipset Manufacturer NVIDIA

Stream Processors 32

Memory
Memory Clock 2000MHz
Memory Size 512MB
Memory Interface 128-bit
Memory Type GDDR3

3D API

Yeah, the 9500 GT will play the game(not at its best though), but I highly recommend getting a much better card for not much more cash. 3850 or 3870 is very good compared to the 9500 GT. 9500 is kinda junky and you wont be able to play new games coming out in the next couple years.

Thanks for the info, but got a couple followups:

Do you have the full model number for your recommendation (i.e. GeForce 3850 GT) or a link to the item on newegg, pricewatch, or other online dealer?

How would a 3850 meet/exceed the 6600+ requirement?

Just to give you an idea of what kind of performance you could expect I will give you my PC's specs.

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 3.5Ghz
Nvidia nForce 680i SLI Motherboard
2GB G.Skill RAM
2x 8800 GT in SLI

I run my games in 1680x1050 resolution.

In Windows XP I can run Crysis on Very High settings while getting 30FPS average.
I run Gears of War at a steady 60FPS.

Even when I had one 8800GT I ran Gears at 60FPS and Crysis at around 20FPS.

These are some charts for popular graphics cards. Just remember the cards listed with SLI and CF are benchmarks with 2 cards, not 1.

So in comparison the ATI 3870 is slightly worse than a single 8800GT and runs about $90.

If you want to spend $40 more you can get a 4850 that has performance slightly slower than my two 8800GTs in SLI.

Anything more than that and you'll be getting into the $200+ range.
