NECA Gears suggestions / ideas

This is a thread to post your ideas and suggestions for future Gears products. Things like action figures, props, accessories, etc. What would YOU like to see?

I would like…
Since they’re going to do at least one Delta per wave, I wouldn’t mind “combat” versions. So far the Gears look great, but they can only stand around. I would love versions in pre-posed combat stances, or combat scenarios. I would like to have Gears who are aiming their Lancers, melee-ing or throwing grenades.

Keeping the idea of the Marcus vs. Drone 2-pack, I would love to see…
- Baird firing behind cover (small cover included) and a Drone with “bullet damage,” which would be bullet hits with the red, translucent blood spouting out.
- I’d like a Curb Stompin’ Cole. Cole would stand over the drone, stomping into some of the translucent “headshot”-like goo.
- Headshot Carmine. Included is a Locust Sniper and Carmine with exploded head.
- “Down But Not Out” Dom. Includes Dom in a crawling position and a Locust Drone.

I’d also like other Gears. NECA has said they sometimes need to cut corners in order to produce such big, heavy, unbelievably detailed figures at their $15 price range, which is absolutely fine with me. They say they have to sometimes re-use body sculpts or elements from other figures, while only sculpting a new head and re-painting the body or including a new accessory. Keeping this in mind, I’d like to see…
- Jonathan Harper – Gear whose story is told in the Collectibles throughout the game. He developed Rust-Lung, was taken prisoner and tortured in Nexus, fought his way free and helped a family evacuate Jacinto. It can be made with a basic Marcus body, repainted to look dirtier and more beat up. His mug shot is seen in a collectible.
- Col. Hoffman – His armor is almost, if not exactly like Marcus (I think his doesn’t have the shoulder armor Marcus’ has, and Gears 2 single player appears to have green lights instead of blue).
- Bernie Mataki – I’m not sure what her armor is like.
- Jace Stratton – From the Gears comic, with a cameo in the game. Same armor as Marcus. Scale him down a little, paint the armor a little darker and there you go.
- Michael Barrick – From the Gears comic. Cole’s armor, painted the same color as Marcus’.
- Tai
- Dizzy

I would LOVE more weapon replicas, such as the Longshot rifle, Hammerburst, COG Pistol and, most of all, the Gansher shotgun. I believe NECA simply enlarges their action figure weapons to full size, so these would be awesome. If they produce them with the same materials as the Lancer, but remove any sort of electronic function, they could be marketed cheaply and sell like mad. Imagine a Hammerburst or Gnasher for $75-$85! I’d buy both in a heartbeat. Package them with an exclusive figure for $20 more and I’d be in heaven.

I don’t know / think NECA looks at these boards, but just in case… you guys continue to blow me away. Everyone else, pitch your ideas here!

I want Longshot replicas. That's really it. They already have the Lancer, so all I want is the Longshot.

Tai and Dizzy would be awesome, I would get those in a heart beat.
I'm happy Kim and RAAM are comming out, always liked Kim, he was by the book, but thats why he was respectable.

Also, maybe they could make a line that was focused more on articulation and less on detail? So you have the amazingly detailed sculpts as collectables and you could have smaller, less detailed, g.i. joe-type figures (the small ones, not the big dolls) that can bend and duck and kneel etc.

i have the marcus and dom, and got the headshot drone, baird and theron for x-mas. i want cole. i will also get RAAM. My stupid marcus broke of his forearm. luckily i can get SUPERGLUE! to fixe him. dang marcus....

Bloodmount. Now that they've got the "Hunter" (Grenadier Elite) and the Lambent Grenadier, they could make a new head for the Beast Rider (though, he may require a new sculpt for the articulation to actually use the Mount, unfortunately; depending on what the articulation is like on the "Hunter" figure. regardless, they could certainly reuse peices of the Hunter/Grenadier sculpt they've done, if they can't use all of it.)
Bloodmounts are about the size of the Gears, so they could be sold as separate figures, or in a 2-pack with the Rider.

After putting the 18" scale Alien on my shelf and seeing it's sheer scale in person (22" straight up, 19" in a normal standing pose) I'd love to see a Reaver for $40 or so (18" Alien ranges $40-$45 or so, and seems very high quality.) Looking at them in-game, I suspect a Reaver would be similar in size to the Alien. Could be sold as a Limited Edition or something, if needed. Then, if he did well, they could release a blue-lighted one...
Bendy tentacles and a couple joints in the head (ball-joint neck, hinged jaw) is all it would take, since the rest of the Reaver is one solid chunk) and once they've got the Beast Rider head/figure...

The driver for the Reaver could simply be one solid piece, since he never moves when he's on it. Special gunner figures for the back seat could be the top half of existing figures with one-piece legs that fit on the saddle.

Here (http://interviews.teamxbox.com/xbox/2163/NECA-Gears-of-War-Action-Figures-Interview/p3/) is a link to an interview done in february where they show the prototype for the full scale lancer plus Hammerburst and Hammer of Dawn!
I think the Lancer sold well enough to warrant more, the only problem is that they might be wary of few repeat buyers since the problem with the battery.

Also, even though I personally would not care if there were any electronics in them or not, I think many would be dissatisfied if they did not make a sound ( gunshot; beep beep beeeeeeep) and they might not have much of a choice due to precedent.

I'd preferr lights to sound, honestly. The best weapon replica/toys I've seen at a reasonable price are the Halo 3 laser tag Plasma Rifle / Pistol. Lights, sounds, vibration when you fired, digital ammo counter and flaps pop out when it "overheats." 'Course it's made for laser tag, so it has to actually "work" to a certain extent.

The battery thing was a small isue, but they handled it well, I think, so I'm not very put-off by it. Then again, people these days are extremely reactionary, so my outlook on things is rarely an indicator of anything else.
I wasn't that impressed by the sound, as it is, so if they left it out I wouldn't mind too much. I'd preferr they use lights so it can sit there and look pretty when I'm playing at night. Even better if I can switch between red/orange and blue...

If anything, I'd love a Torque Bow...

With a Boltok or a Gorgon I cuold have my ideal loadout for Gears Campaign.

The battery thing was a small isue, but they handled it well, I think, so I'm not very put-off by it. Same here. I pre-ordered with Gears 2 and got the game free. Then Amazon sent me a $10 gift card for pre-ordering, then another $10 for the problem with the Lancer and NECA sent me a replacement part. Really couldn't ask for better than that.

I'd never seen the Hammerbusrt and HoD before! That's AWESOME. If you look closely, there are wires going to the HoD sight, which implies electronic parts. And the Hammerburst clip is clear plastic, so it looks like that'll be removable.

To be honest I want better articulated Delta squad. Cole can't even aim his rifle with two hands, just one gangsta style. I know Cole's strong and all, but he rarely shoots the lancer one handed if at all. I don't have series 2 yet, but I'm hoping that these guys won't need more articulation.

Weapon replicas. Made better too. A remade Lancer would be cool seeing as the other one isn't even from GOW2 but GOW1. I.E. it needs the longer barrel, added light on the stock, chainsaw, and barrel, lit crosshairs etc. Same for the gold one. And a better sound effects system. Pulling the trigger would make a great gunfire sound, but when you pull out the chainsaw handle (or use a "fire selector" switch) it would switch over to randomized non-sucking chainsaw sounds. And to compensate for the high price, the gun's lights can be lit up with switchable COG blue or Locust Red/ Orange LEDs. A Longshot with ejecting shells, sound, and ligts would be cool too.

Other weapons would be nice too, all with firing sounds, LEDs and movable parts/ removable magazines, and hollowed barrels and easy deconstruction. Complete realism (open chambers, mag releases, shells/ casings, etc.) would not only be cool, but mod-freindly, for all those crazy enough to attempt to create airsoft weapons from GOW.

HELL, Tokyo Marui and Classic Army could buy licenses from EPIC to make airsofts but that's a bit off-topic and I'm starting to get carried away in all my little nerd fantasies... *sigh*

Here are some toys that I have seen stuff for. In Toyfair I saw a Beast Rider Head. I have seen the Flame Grenider Head. Could also be used as Flame Boomer Head. Boomshot weapon, Boomshield, Grogan Pistol, Molcher. I think I also saw a dude in a picture of the NECA base Sculpting the mid lower torso of yes indeed a KANTUS. Please put the Kantus in series 4. So that being said We could posibly be getting Boomers, Grinders, Mualers. Kantus, Flame Grenider, Beast Rider. That being said I would like Kantus relly bad. Locust Gunner the one that sits behind the Triker. Wertches, Tickers. Weapons I would like would be the Scorcher for a Flame Genider not the Flame Boomer.
I would also Like these COG Bernnie, Tai, Dizzy, and a personal Fav Cornl. Hoffman. As for big beast I would like these only if sacaled in size. My #1 Pick is Burmak. Bloodmounts, Reavers and a Hydra That comes with Skorge with his cainsaw staff. I would also like a two pack of Queen Myrahh, and Anya. And a two pack of Maria and tortured Maria. Maybe a tortured Tai. I also would like the Locust gearspedia lists as the Bolter. He is a helmeted Locust that has a helmet with a creast at the top and I think he has Solder pads. I would also like the Other two Theron Helmets. I have an idea for making the Wetches and Tickers. Put maybe 4 to 6 Wertches/Tickers in one package.
They could make a Dark Wertch varient pack out as well. I would also Like less Marcus to be made and produced. Insted of putting Marcus in every series put one Member of Delta in each set this would make room for the Locust Wich Seem to be in High demand.

Id love to see the helmeted drone from the box set released as a single fig, as well as the sniper with helmet and berserkers. All the locust from the first game should be made and released first. Cant wait for raam and grenadiers, not to keen on lambet grubs though, we havent seen enough of them in the game. Wretches!!!
And if they insist on redoing marcus and the rest of delta they could doit as a weapon pack, ie marcus 4.0 w. Mulcher, lancer and boomshot. Or baird w. Mortar, torque bow and longshot

I also don't like the idea of Lambent Locust too much. But have to admit I might buy just one. It depends on how much they are. It would be cool if they made the Lambent Locust a Comic Con Exclusive. That way the people who want him can pay extra for him if they want him bad. Then for those of us who don't want him that bad won't feel cheated. Cause We would not have to pay for him if we don't want him.

id like to see a polystone statue of a Brumak and or Queen Myrrah. A line of quality weapon replica's would be awesome. I'd actually prefer them not be full scale either, half scale would actually be better for space and cost. And it would be nice if some of the other characters got the 12in scale treatment from NECA.

I dont think i would go so far as to say id feel cheated about the lambent grenadier its just there isnt enough to warrant the figure, i personally think that epic are gonna do something awesom with the lambent in gears 3 and then when the new lambent figures come out people who didnt like lambent before will look back and think "I should have bought that", for now they could release as a normal grenadier and a few waves down the line make it a lambent...id still buy it though

I think we all agree, we need more Gears! Hoffman, Tai, Dizzy, etc.
I'd really want Hoffman, he's been a character in the game for two straight games now, so he should sell relativley well.

I would also like a Hoffmen. He is cool. I didn't like him too well untill I read Aspho Feilds. Then I thought wow this guy has alot to deal with. I gained some insight into him I would love a Hoffmen.

I would also love to see large-scale vehicles with a bunch of moving parts and sounds like the Junker, APC, Derrik truck, Centaur, Raven, Reaver, and Brumak, all with movable hatches, guns, lights, sounds, etc.

it would be cool if they started adding build a figures to waves, for instance they could add the kantus to the fourth wave, the tickers small size means they could put a kantus's body and head in and the other four figures have the limbs and weapons
