Does anyone know some tutorials to make a custum animated character? (if theres something like that)
or how I could animate only certain parts like the arms to make a sword swing animation.

Any info on ut3 char animation is welcome

ty in advance hope someone knows anything about this

ok first do my tutorials
then try this
with the UT3_Male (max file) select a mesh then in actorx look at the animation file name section and give it a name eg:- K_CH_AnimsExtra, now give the sequence a name (skin_anim) and the animation range 0-330, now click on the Digest animation button, when finished click the Animation manager button, in this window select your anim and move/copy to the output package, now click on save. :) you have just exported your first anim.


in UEd right click and create a new Animset (don't forget to name your package and sub_folder) now in the anim viewer import your psa file, watch the anim :D, now save your package


ok now you know how to do that you can create you own anims by animating the biped rig (bip01 pre-fix) or use bip files (tutorials in the 3ds max tutorials)

Oh I c. Well ty geodav that rly clears things up! :D
But well about the fact that there is almost no weapon in ut where I see other movements in the arm. Will I be able to animate the body the way you tell me to and make like a for exmpl "Sword_Slash" animation?

ok doing as explained above will get you the 3rd person anims, to get the 1st person anims for the weapons you'll have to do it this way http://utforums.epicgames.com/showthread.php?t=610093

Well looks like that guy had a hard time to create those anims but for now I will keep it with the 3rd person anims together with actioncam. Ty for the help.

P.S: Last (noob) question: So are you actually able to swap like for ex a run anim or do you need to create a whole new set of animations for that?
