Incredibly Slow Matchmaking!

So the wife got me Gears 2 for Christmas. I never played the first one, but I told her I wanted it a while back because all of my real life friends and co-workers play it =p

So I log on, do all of the basic multiplayer training and what not, then I started up the campaign, did the first act and got a little bit into the second, and figured "Ah, what the hell, I'll try matchmaking"

What the hell is wrong with it? I sat there for exactly 26 minutet waiting for it to find a match, and it just said searching the entire time.

Arrghh. What do I need to do? My NAT is Open, so that isn't the problem. I usually play Call of Duty 4, and I know that doesn't use TruSkill, but I've also played Halo 3, which does, and I've never had this much trouble finding a match.

if you don't find match after say 30seconds....I'd suggest just hitting cancel and trying again...usually finds a match somewhat instantly...

if not try again.....you must be a really patient person to wait that long lol..

Meh, I was reading a book while I was waiting, but still. Thanks for the tip, I'll try that out! It seems to find players easily, but it still says "Looking for another team," or something along those lines.

I've got that same problem and ive read about other people having the same problem.
I can't join any matchmaking games no matter how many times I try. And Call of Duty 4 and other games work online so it's not my connection...

Everyone is experiencing this and it is quite annoying at that. I hope they make a patch soon because this is really annoying.

just adding my name to the list of folk who are finding it near impossible to get a mp game - have read a few help topics but cant beleive that this game needs different settings and whatnot to EVERY other xbox live game as its the first game i have had issues with.

Adding myself to the list of people with this problem. I've managed to join a total of 2 multiplayer games over the past 3 days, despite lengthy amounts of trying.

Yep, adding myself to the list. I was so excited today that I got a game, I've gone through the campaign 3 times and I'm learning the script off by heart now.

another name to the list, but im sure its alot bigger, i cannot belive what they`ve done to the multiplayer on gears, it was great before

fair enough, they wanted to get rid of the host advantage, but at least with that problem, you could actually access a game, i tried for 40 minutes tonight, what an absolute joke, im sorry, but if you cant access multiplayer games, then you should get your money back

im disgusted with it to be honest, ill get call of duty tomorrow, im sure that will let me play

i was thinking on sell the LE of GoW2 And get the LE CoD WaW, but now my Xbox have the circle of death , so ill wait to get back my 360 and check how it goes the MP and i hope find an Update that clean all the **** that infect 1 of my 3 favorites games,
