It is actually based on points, so it is personal acheivment

i had a pretty good team yesterday and were were playing elimination and didnt lose a single game for a streak of about 11 or 12 and im still a 2 which is really lame (i always came in 1-3 on the team from points)

I think it is for points, I've only won 3 wingman matches out of almost 50 I think, but my K/D ratio is about 1.5 in it and I still managed to reach 3rd rank.

Though in Elimination I've won every game but perhaps 4..

kill death ratio determines it. if you have 1.0 you will have like a third rank if you have like 2.0 you"ll have rank 4

i Think it is you win loss in each game type + k/d for each game type

K/D ratio has no effect on rank. It is purely based on W/L ratio and that's just a terrible idea.
