But i really wanna know,
Is gears 2 better,
If so why is it better??

(i know you prob think it dumb, but my xbox got stolen and i am getting one for christmas and wanna know if i should take the time to go get it)

if your asking is gears 2 better than gears 1 multiplayer then the answer is no.

I think gears 2 is better overall.I think the multiplayer takes some getting used too. But I am addicted to it just like I was with gears1. I think when they drop a patch or two this game will truly over shine gears one. Frankly the only thing i miss in gears 1 now is fuel depot and war machine maps.

if your into running around shotgunning then no, but if you like the game for the teamwork and the wonderful weapon the lancer then I recommend it.

overall i think gears 2 is definitely a much better game than the first one. it does have a couple of bugs (i'm talking about offline, mind you, cause i haven't play it online all that much) but for the addition of bots alone was reason enough to get the game :)

the single player was a much nicer experience as well cause i constantly felt like i was actually playing a movie :)

If you're a chainsaw whore, then this game is for you. It's really hard to stop a chainsawer from revving now.

overall i still think the second game is still better because the campaign is awesome and there are still some amazing elements to the game such as being able to crawl when ur down. I would still get the game because a patch may be commin our way

It's better. The darkness was so much in the first Gears that a locust was right in front of me and I couldn't see him. He looked like the rock.

Just played some Gears 2 today and I hate it! Gears 1 had it's frustrating moments, but Gears 2 is even worse. The matchmaking still takes long even after the patch, you have to choose playlists instead of exactly what game mode you want, lag is terrible, when you shoot a chainsawer point blank with the shotgun they don't stop revving their chainsaw, shotgun is inconsistent and is only effective if you two piece and sometimes meleeing them doesn't stun them, all types of grenades are cheap (getting back up after being knocked down by a smoke grenade is inconsistent meaning an enemy could be knocked down by the same grenade and get up before you, ink grenades don't hurt teammates and is a pain when used in modes such as King of the Hill because you are unable to stand in the ring without dying, and frag grenades have such a wide range and will kill you even if you were nowhere near the explosion and you pretty much are dead if you even come close to a wall/floor tagged frag grenade because you have no time to escape), and there are several annoying glitches in the game such as the shield glitch, invisible man glitch, and leaders glitching out of the map so you can't kill them.

Think about it like this. No more shottie whores, no newbs chainsawing you as you shoot at them, take a hostage to save your life, crawl for dear life. In the first, you could do almost none of them. But the glitchers need to go. Xbox needs to enforce it, but only if they saw it themselves.

Overall, gears 2 is better because of the new weps and features but gears 1 had better online play. Solely because of the lag and matchmaking problems.

NO! Gears 2 is horrible! Don't waste your money until you hear on these forums that a patch has been released to make it the game it should have been i.e. gears 1 with a few necessary tweaks!

Thank ya'll for your input, and i will now agree with most of these,

I just went out and got gears two, i will agree it takes time for getting used to.
Buti think all around it's better
