Played a few rounds of Gears 1 multiplayer yesterday...

One game was extremely laggy and 3 of the 8 guys were crab walking, and the other game 15 round warzone I died 6 times (5 active reload snipers, and 1 chainsaw!)

My point is (my opinion) Gears 2 may not be perfect but once some things are patched it will be a lot better experience than Gears 1 shotty/active reload whore-fest.

Sounds like you had bad luck finding a good room. I haven't seen someone crabwalk in Gears 1 for a few months. But I only play player matches, not ranked. But I get the feeling you might be fabricating situations to have a basis for your overall point, that you feel Gears 2 is better than Gears 1. If not, apologies on the assumption.

nah, he's actually got a point. I was playing GOW1 earlier on fuel depot, and 3 of the guys were crab walking and another guy grabbed the sniper then fell off the map. Its almost every other game someone crab walks or falls off the map. But then again i do play in ranked, which is horrible for people that just wanna have some fun and try and get the achievements.

crabwalking allows people to move at an accelled rate of speed and in a crouched position thus making them tougher to kill. It is pretty satisfying to destroy them with the shotty though haha

I tried GOW1 again two nights ago and actually had the most fun on xbox live that I've had in probably months. Played three 12 round games for about 90 mins total and didn't once get frustrated or mad. Admittedly none of the games counted because of quitters but I already have seriously so I didn't care and still had a great time :)

Looking forward to the forthcoming patch(es) which I'm holding out for before I jump into GOW2 multi.

I always found with GOW1 that it seemed to be hit or miss, it was weird because it seemed that each night would continue a trend the WHOLE night. It would either be great games and lots of fun or be full of crabwalking and kff'ing out of the map etc...

I'm very eager to join you and everyone else who's already enjoying GOW2 hopefully in the near future. I just vowed to myself 4 weeks ago I wouldn't touch it again until things were sorted out haha :)

I have been playing Gears 1 alot lately and it's as brilliant as ever! LOVE IT

I went back to Gears 1 for the last few days and while I've had a lot of fun, it feels like some things are missing. I like the fact that Gears 2 has more variety, but I also like the fact that the shotgun in Gears 1 works much better than its Gears 2 counterpart. I'm torn between which one I would rather play.

Hm, theres the ping bar that should help you out since I played GOW1 for a whole day and had 0 laggy matches and no glitchers.


Only thing I don't like about GOW1 is the overpowered shotty, but GOw2 has way more flaws.
