Mr. Rein please refer to this link to my original thread. This thread is being made not only as a challenge but also as a plea for help. Throughout all of the posts made on Gears of War 2 problems, glitches, whatever....There is only one issue that needs to be addressed immediately. The evidence of this is visible in the link I attached above. Sir, True Skill ranking for our game, GOW2, is broken. You have people on these forums posting that they cannot move from one rank to another. You have people on these forums that have an excellent kill/death ratio and win/loss ratio and are still rank 2 or 3. You have people that have horrible kill/death and win/loss and they are rank 5. you have people using lag switch, just to get their rank. The game for many has become about ranks 1-5 and not the competitiveness of online play for enjoyment. When your winning a game, and the other team quits--it counts for NOTHING---how can you rank up? When people use shield glitch or invisible man glitch---how can you rank up? When people use lag switches or when the connection is horrible---how can you rank up? This is not True skill, it is simply, True Luck. As depicted by the link I have attached, my poll results show that players want either to do away with True Skill or they want a progress bar showing how close they are to rank. Listen, we are all on these forums and playing the game because you guys at Epic did an awesome job. With every job or task we perform. There are always ways to improve on it. This whole True skill ranking deal was a fatal lapse in judgement. There are a host of other issues like the 15 second bleed out time---when most players in execution always set it to 5 seconds. The glitching issues--shield and security laser gate. The matchmaking issues of finding laggy rooms where before you could choose between a red, yellow or blue connection. Host being overpowered and very hard to kill. Thos issues pale in comparison to the True Skill issues and ranking system. I am challenging you to give us an answer, a good solid answer to what you plan on doing about this. Base a persons rank on a certain level of kill/death and win/loss. Base a persons rank on thier standings in the leaderboards. Base a persons rank on something other than what it is now. This is like Halo 2 all over again. I didn't stand out in the cold weather at my local Gamestop from 8:00 p.m. till 2:00 a.m. for this broken multiplayer system. I am currently ranked in the top 100 on Gears 1 in Execution with over 4000 wins and only 1000 losses. I currently have close to 60,000 kills in Gears 1. In gears 2 I am ranked in the top 50 in annex and very high in all other gametypes. What this means is that I PLAY. I am 34 years old, I have a family and a career, but xbox is my hobby and I love it. I have promoted you game from here to high Heaven. I have recommended Gears 1 and 2 to everyone that has ever asked me about it. I AM A GEARS OF WAR FAN. Now, every night after me and my friends finish gaming, all we can do is talk about all of the garbage that happens in the game we thought we would love. Again, I am challenging you to give us an answer. Take True Skill out, or put a progress bar in. I will create a gamertag called Rein Rules and play 100 multiplayer matches with that gamertag if you respond with a specific answer addressing our issue. again I would refer you to my poll and the link at the beginning of this post.
