Now I don't get it....so many people on here always say to stop rushing with the shotgun, be tactical, and not just run out.
Am I the only one who loves to have like a shotgun out and just an all-out shotgun battle in say Wingman when your team is between two teams and its just shotty after shotty and everyone is blown to bits.
Yea, staying behind walls, tagging, being patient helps you win and all of that...but it's so boring!
I'd rather go down after being 2v2 shotgunned and going crazy blood everywhere tons of bodies on the floor...than say be behind cover and get headshotted like it's nothing.

i love the shotty and if they just add the ability to stop people rushing you with it and its fine. hammerburst or manser will cripple you if your charging. but god forbid someone is charging you to two piece or chanisaw youand you have your fruit loop power shotgun your dead. as of now onlything to stop someone two piecing you is to two piece them first. its stupid. no skill at all with the shotty now. i use to bury kids that tried to two piece me. now they two piece me because my shotty doesnt hesitate them not even a second. and then connections aint yhelpi9ng. example.. me and my friend were playing wingman. it was us against one guy could of been host dont know. one i run up shoot him twice with shotgun he doesnt fall i smakc him he doesnt fall. my teamate the whole time is shooting him he doesnt fall. he turns around and smacks me shoots me i am dead. he turns and one shots my teamate. its either lag or complete bull**** this game as far as the shotgun is so unpredictable. people that say the shotgun is fine either one dont use it or two constantly run up and smack someone. because yes 9 out of ten times if you run up and smack them and shoot there dead. no skill at all.

Unfortunately, it's this type of gameplay from Gears 1 that has caused all the weapon issues (super power weapons, ultra-lancer, inconsistent shotty) in Gears 2.

there wasnt a problem with the shotty in the first game its a shotgun if your at close range you can one shot someone. its just the fact that noobs would allow people to get all close in the first one and get smashed by someone good with it.
difference now someone who was good with a shotgun is absolutely overpowered when it comes to a melee a lanser a torque a sniper anything. another example/ sniper aims at me he misses. in that time i run up to him i am right in front of him he reloads i point blank him. he laughs and beats me down with it. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO this is not possible. if you are face to face with someone unless you miss most likely not your gonna kill or at least push the guy back some so you can shoot again. not this time u shoot at close range no stun no anything

This is good point. Not that the shottie itself is that much changed, but the gameplay around has completely changed it's dynamic within. My thing though is that I don't stun 75% when I use any weapon to melee. I hear the thud, but absolutely no stun, nothing. But I sure do get chainsawed when I miscalculate a close-up shotgun blast.
