ok im noticing theres characters in the gears universe that should be playable but arent. like jace, chairman prescott, and a few of the locust characters. also im noticing more women play this game now so why not give them a playable female character like anya, maria (befored she was captured/killed), and The locust queen. hell why not put a cog gear in there, i mean ive noticed three cog gear uniforms while playing campaign,two of which are being used by anthony and ben carmine. now all of you could call me stupid or whatever but i think it would be cool to have playable downlaodable characters. so if you agree help out and keep posting new character ideas.

dude that would be awesome but i highly doubt it!!! jace will join the delta squad in gears3 and carmines older brother witch marcus and dom helped out during the reaver fight will be in there too hes gonna survive becouse hes been in the cog longer than ben and anthony if u look closely in the background u can spot the new helmes too!!

If you check out the description of the Gears of War: Asphos Fields novel, you'll read the following...

There are numerous things in this passage which lead me to believe Carlos Santiago, Dom's older brother, died saving Marcus or was killed because of Marcus' actions or murcus had to kill him?...

Anyone else get that out of this description?

I think it would just be nice if epic let us make our own characters based on all the stuff the current characters already have. that is one think i liked about halo 3 i was able to customize my charater.

I would REALLY love to see Anya and The Queen in multiplayer for COW3. I am a female gamer, and even though I love the multiplayer (minus some flaws) adding these two would really go a long way in knowing that the developers realize and respect that females play these types of games too.

Anyhooters... I do like the idea of downloadable characters. Personally, I think they should OD with it. They should release so many for a nominal MS points fee that people would actually end up being picky with it. As a result, people would have a preference for whom they'd choose to download and use, showing their individuality.

I love Jace in the comics - hes got a lot of character to him.
Not to mention hes totally cool! I reckon you should be able to download him. Failing that, Gears 3 should have a character customisation based on what everyone lese has got and then i'll just make him.

if epic had any business sense at all they would make the two women gears from the novel into downloadable characters for say the price of downloadable maps (800 mic rosoft points about right?), it works because of all the women who play would want them and most women I play with could kick your ass in a match hands down, women carry heavy stuff in the military all the time hell they shoot just about every thing why not COG’s? its just a virtual world not like women are going to be carrying lancers around town now

Wow, I haven't played Gears 2 in about a month due to no player matches being a huge buzz kill, but this idea of new downloadable characters just kind of got me excited again. I agree that Maria and Anya would be stupid, but Matakai (sic) from the book would be awesome. As would Jace and maybe the Theron Sentinel. Sounds like easy money for Epic to me.

And yeah, like UT3 on PC, just give as all the assets to make our own custom characters while you're at it. Why not? Again, easy money.

And even more easy money, give us the other 2 maps off gears 1 for PC, redo the remaining flashback maps and give us player matches. All of which I'm sure everyone would chip in at least a little cash for...just saying.

And as a big loyalty bonus, give us the extra chapter for gears 1 PC for our 360's...its a really fun part of the game and really, its not that painful to go back to gears 1 from gears 2...

i finished reading the book last night and Anya Shroud's mother was a kick ass gear who suited up and they even described the COG uniform as not being noticeable from a male gears and Matakai was a bad ass sniper those would be awesome downloadable for our women gamers, hell you wouldn't even know they was female almost unless they talked it easy money for epic and those damn player matching sucks I’ve actually gone back to playing gears 1 so have most of my friends.. Epic took a good thing and broke it and added more stuff to compensate.

I agree that customizeable characters, as well as Jace and Bernie Mataki would be awesome additions to the game. But even though this would be no challenge for Epic and would bring them some money in, I could see them waiting until GoW3 to have these options available. Mainly for the simple fact that these characters may have a role in GoW3 (possibly, just an idea) and the customize characters option could be a big selling point for the game and gears fans

If they were to make DLC people it should have Major Helena Stroud, Bernadette Mataki and Jace Stratton. Having Stroud and Mataki would make the female gamers happy to have a female gear to play as. Jace would also good choose because of the comics and his voice appearance from Gears2.
