So I purchased GoW today. I checked out the "can you run it" website earlier this week and found out that I do have sufficient req's to run the game.
Here's my PC:
Windows XP SP2
Intel Core 2 CPU 4400 @ 2.00 GHz
2.01 GHz, 2.0 GB of RAM
nVidea 8600 GT 256mb graphics
realtek audio card
C: = 500GB
D: = 200GB
I installed the new graphics driver as well as the new audio driver. I installed xlive as well as the GearsTU.exe patch. Everytime I start the game, either from the shortcut or original .exe or from the autoplay on the disc itself, I get three messages...
"Title: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Message: Runtime error!
Program C:\Program File...
This application has request the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."
And then right after that I get two of the same message:
"Title: wargame-g4wlive.exe
Message: wargame-g4wlive.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience"
This is extremely frusterating, I do not know why this is happening and am extremely angry because the place I bought it from said that they will not refund it.
One more thing I found peculiar was...during installation, I was never prompted to give the serial or activation key...anyways if anybody can help that would be great, my next plan of action is directly contacting microsoft/epic to try and fix the problem. Any input would be great,
