GOW comics subscription question so how does it work?

Ok guys, im going to get a subscription to gears of war comic book. Does it work like a monthly magazine and give you magazine for the month or does it start from the beginning?

Yeah I don't know either man. I ordered mine a few weeks ago and am hoping to get issue 1, but if I don't I'll probably just buy one off of ebay or something.
