I have been wondering what all the guys who joined this discussion for the cog tags like hooligunn, waldo, and everyone else feel about GOW2 because after reading alot of the threads it seems to be a big split on what people feel about the game. Im asking this as I see alot of new members joining just to complain and I would like to see the thoughts of the longer serving members.
I think gears2 is superb altough different to the 1st one, There are some small issues imo but nothing that cant be sorted.
Just wondered on your thoughts.

The only real issues I have are the communication problems, and the actual party system. I don't see why so many people wanted a party system for Gears, for me personally, it just doesn't fit. (Maybe it's just because I'm still way too used to the old lobby)
Otherwise, Gears 2 is what has sucked me away from these forums!:D
Last thing i have to say is - people who are complaining about the gnasher are, quite frankly, becoming annoying. It was never meant to be so powerful in Gears 1, where everybody complained about "host", even if it wasn't. People are just never pleased...

I have to agree with MajorFury. I love the new game. I truly think that most peoples' complaints about the shotty come from the fact that it TAKES SKILL to use now. I personally have been getting owned by this weapon by my clanmates who know how to use it. The chainsaw issues that folks are complaining about seem to be far lessing "vacuumy" than Gears 1. The only real glitches that I have experienced personally have to do with random clipping and some instances of the chainsaw not stopping once started. Switching weapons seems to fix the latter.
I do have the advantage of being in a fairly large (100 members) Gears clan, so I do not have to deal with John Q. Pulic (aka whiny Timmy) and usually have more invites to private games than I can accept. The only downside to this is I do not know if I will ever get the public achievements as I may never play enough public games. If this is truly my biggest issue with Gears 2, then I am a happy man!

I'm pretty new here...joined during the Last Day viral campaign...but I love the game.
I played through the campaign once, and on my second playthrough, and it's awesome.
Horde is damn addicting. I love playing that with people who actually communicate.
I haven't really got into a lot of full on MP, just a couple matches, so I can't really judge it. I always sucked at Gears 1 MP, but I hope to become decent on this one. That said, I love being able to play against bots. That's freakin' sweet.
Gears of War 2 FTW~!

As far as the GOW2's gameplay goes I love it!!! But on MP,the main problem I have found is the amount of time it takes to get a party together and find another team of comprable skill to play. I swear it takes freakin forever (zzzzzzzzzz...).

I think the lack of response shows that the people who were on this site before working through the last day stuff are now too busy playing and enjoying GOW2 which tells me most of what I wanted to find out.
Thanks EPIC lovin the game;)

I love the game, personally it was a god send and I'm trying to re-adapt my play style accordingly. I don't have any real issues with new shotgun, in fact I don't see the complaints being, though my timing is still a little rusty I am still able to 1 shot people and use it well. The lancer in my opinion is an all around weapon like it is supposed to be and people well hate it because they get chainsawed when they get up close. Gears is a game of risks and rewards, so hence you rush in hence you get sawed hence your team is a man down. I'm in love with the torque bow again, I have tons of headshots including a double and damn near triple, err. And I have probably one of the longest headshots with it to date, from 1 spawn of River to the other, it was sweet!
The only issue I have are the cross continental games, IE: England vs USA. The connections are worse on this game then they were on the original Gears. But I also live in Arizona and I know that that 4,000 mile spread isn't helping me, I want the old lobby system back where I can search in a Server list and find a game with good ping and where I want to play, if I get Pavilion 1 more time in a elimination match, I'll kill monty python's white rabbit. Other than that I have no complaints.

What do you mean by double and triple?
Also, I had a couple headshots with the torque playing Horde on River. I was like, "Holy sh*t! I got a headshot with the Torque!!"
It's freakin' sweet how you can get headshots on almost all the enemies and with almost all the weapons. I even got one with the Lancer, but it wasn't the popping kind:(

taking a liking too this guy, just from his post :D. anyway tbh I prefer shotgun fights on Gears 1 then Gears 2. But apart from that Gears 2 is better then Gears 1. If they patch the game quickly too sort out matchmaking, then I won't stop playing this

Since I bought the game I have loved it, and I cant get enough of it. Only problem I found was that Anthony Carmine doesnt have his original dialong from gears 1. I started a thread in the characters section called "Anthony Dialog Petition" so if u all feel the same post there we might convice EPIC to change it.

With the limited amount of time I've had to play the game (casually) running through the campaign on normal, I love it :). Haven't touched multiplayer online yet, and finished a few levels of Horde. Been so freaking busy with other things... mainly working on the achievements, but will soon go for multiplayer.
Imperfect Light keeps inviting me to games, but either when I'm not around, or when I'm in the middle of a campaign :) hehe.
One point though: it felt like the end-game difficulty was much more on par with the rest of the game than RAAM was in Gears 1. At least in Normal mode. Maybe I should be afraid of Insane difficulty :P hehe But that's next on my plate.

LOL, yeah I have not been on this forum as much since the cog hunts ended and Gears 2, I just cant get enough

This might be a little late of a response to this question, but I have to agree with Waldo, the knowledgeable one, with most of what he said.
I love to use my shotty still, it just is more skillful then the spray and pray tactics with shotty in GOW 1, and truely if you use it right it is still darn near the best weapon in the game, especially in horde.
I dont really know what the problem with the chainsaw is, it is the right kind of weapon that is should have been in GOW 1, and if no one can figure that you can back roll and shoot a few times and the chainsaw will go down, and even if it doesnt you will have more than enough to pull out yours and duel, I might go crazy.
Graphics rule, Story rules, Horde rules, Weapons (Shotty and Torque Mainly) rule,
The only complaints that I have is I would still favor the old matchmaking menus, than the new matching system. Also i have had a couple problems with some glitches like how you cant shoot your guns when you spawn, but I heard a lot of people get that so I can live with it for now, and just some occasional lag spots.
Other than that I will probably be hooked on this gears for years, I cant give up until I achieve "Seriously" again

Just wondered on your thoughts.
So far I am loving it.
Have mostly played private matches but the one time we tried public wingman it took forever to find a game. Not crazy about the playlist selection, wish it was more specific on game type. I hear that a lot of people quit before it even starts if it isn't the exact game they wanted to play, leaving one team down a player or two.
The single player campaign is a blast so far. Not sure why I can't get this thing finished but I just keep getting distracted. Also taking my sweet time because I am trying to find all the collectibles.
I hear a lot of complaints about the shotgun but I think it has only been improved. Some will call me crazy for saying that but I think it has good range and stopping power. I am very partial to the hammerburst.
The sequel only improves on what was offered in the first and I just can't get enough of it. Now if only my friends could get back from vacation I could get some more private matches in (they really bring the group together).

Was that a jab at everyone else here?:p A jab at everyone else, no, but Waldo was like the leader of the last day thread, he found the coords, helped searchers, and kept us on track..
