Problem with Act 3 Ch. 4 (Ascension)

I am hoping that someone can help me with this issue I am having. I am currently playing the solo campaign and I am on Act 3 Chapter 4 (Ascension) and I am at the part when the centaur drops down and it loses power and it stays dark for about a minute. Then once they get the power back on there are 3 scorpers in front of the centaur and my issue is that once the 3rd scorper jumps down from the cliff above, I immediately blow up and there is no way for me to shoot any of the scorpers or move the centaur to get out of the way. I am not exactly sure why this is happening and I have tried several hundred times to beat it but I still cant. Ive restarted the chapter and still the same problem occurs. Any information will be greatly helpful!!

I've got the same problem! It happens to me on Hardcore or Insane, not Normal and Casual. In Co-Op this doesn't happen.

ACT3 is problematic. ACT3 has lots of glitches. The glitch I have encountered here at ACT3 Ch4 cave part is that everything went so blue, I mean totally blue, it is not normal, and it is not the TV issue because my GOW1 Limited Edition went from start to finish without any type of graphic problems!!!
None of the dark games like Dead Space has this problems too!!!

Why is it the ACT3 Ch4 "cave" part so damn blue, it is not tiny blue tint like, it is like having color blue instead of black for the darkness!!!!!!!!!
There must be something wrong with the color coding somewhere for the game software.

Why is it GOW1 so perfect out of the box without any graphical glitches that is this BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I enjoyed GOW2 Limited Edition I got from the start until ACT3, everything seems to be weird, this blue strong filter all over the place, especially ACT3 Ch4 "cave" part!!!! It is not just slight blue tint, it is replacing the black with blue color instead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry I am so angry about this issue....:mad:

Oh! I don't have problems with ACT1 Roadblocks part which is deep dark stage too where the big tank is lighting you through and you will be encountering those self explosive aliens.

Im having a different problem
I kill all the grubs then destroy the tower
i go into the cave and all the back to a black wall
and no corpsers spawn ive restarted the chapter and everything and no matter what difficulty it still does the same thing
If anyone can help please help
its makin me mad wannna beat the story :mad:

I encountered the same problem when I finally managed to get passed the outpost in Insane mode after countless attempts... And that's why I came on this forum. Not only is this tank freaking annoying to drive and shoot with when playing in single player, but it also gets ripped off by troykas in a matter of seconds. At the outpost, this just get ridiculous... I'd really like to see you some folks from the Epic staff do this scene without loosing their mind.

Oh yeah, the same nonsense applies to those seeders which can kill you from 50 meters away. Seriously, did you guys actually test this chapter? This really puzzles me, because it's not enjoyable at all. It pretty much ruined my whole experience.

Edit : Well, I finally managed to get through the outpost again and the same glitch happened. That's just f*cking great.

Edit 2 : Alright, I made it after all. Once the tower got shot down, I went at the beginning of the map (until the path is blocked by some rubble). When I got back to the cave, checkpoint finally cleared in!

I had the same problem when I played through the game in Hardcore mode. Figured out this was because I was using the boost before diving from the cliff. Try going very slow and that should get you there safely.

I tried psypods idea of goin to the back of the map where the rubble was and it fixed the glitch i guess
now im on my way to beatin the story :D

Ya i just kept trying it myself over and over and over, shooting at the scorpers in different order, driving off the ledge in different spots, anything different and it finally worked for me! So im not sure exactly how to fix it but basically just keep trying and eventually it should work?!

Yes! Thank you guys. This was doing mine & a mate of mines head in last night. The bit when you knock down the tower, we are doing it on insane & after a hell of a lot of swearing & shouting we finaly manged to do it then that corpser just didnt appear. We figured it just gltched or something so did it again, then again. It just never appeared. We were fuming. Anyway, thanks guys.

& Epic, sort your f**king act out. :mad: This bit is no fun AT ALL!! Did you even test it? You die after a couple of seconds as soon as you pass that invisble barrier that lets you start shooting the tower. & when we finaly do, shoot it down, to find out the games just about broken at this bit & doesnt let you progress is seriously annoying. Its ridiculous that a high profile game like this can be released with these sort of problems.

Ive been singing this games praises since I first played it on release day. That is all to change now. If id known you'd left this in it I wouldve slagged it off.

I tried your suggestion for not using the boost/drop down very slowly at the Corpsers but I still die. The 3rd Corpser is like a mile away from me but he still destroys my Centaur.

When I jump off the ledge on the left or right side I get transported to the middle when the power goes out, anyone else has this problem?

I had the same issues with the 3 corpsers;

It doesnt matter if you boost over it or fall slowly, you land in the same place. I kept getting blown up but then i realised in the death scene that the corpser in front of me does his attack after you die so a different 1 killed me.

When you first see their eyes make sure your aiming for the guy on the right then when the lights go on shoot it when its legs are up, and do the same for the center and left guys.

Even on insane their easy to kill its just timing as its a 1 hit kill from them.

I didn't have ANY problems with this fragment (the corpsers) on hardcore... Just shoot them in the tail thing when they put legs up. You can also shoot them before the power is up (when the first eyes pop up) so try shooting - when the cannon fires - start killing. If you have problems with this - you will never pass INSANE 1st act rolling thunder when the brumak will stand before you.

I have an origonal xbox 360 with harddrive and when i got gears of war 2 and started playing it worked. About 2 hours later the game came up with disc unreadable. so i cleaned it and tryed again. It didnt work so i thought maybe my xbox 360 was just hot so i let it sit for 3 hours. I turned it back on as soon as i started playing on multiplayer it said disc unreadable. I took the game back to the store and got another one. I took it right out of the case and I placed it directly into the xbox. I played for 5 minutes and the disc unreadable came up. When i went to look at the bottom of the disc (this happened to the first game) it had a WEIRD FILM ON THE BOTTOM i held it up to the light and if u rotate the disc different parts of the cd showed. This isnt on any other game of mine. If anyone else observes this tell me.

Its not the third one that kills me, i think it is one of the two, because thats what i tried and it worked, i also went slow of the cliff too.
