no it isn't. the movie is still in preproduction. Release dates are always wrong unless they come from the source themselves or you see it in advertisments. Same thing applies to game releases. They always say the first of the month as a place holder

Yeah, there is no way it is due for Jan 1st. They just signed the contract this year, we are looking at least 1 to 2 years atleast.
