Why isn't Earth ever mentioned in the Gears storyline?

Why does no human on Sera know of the planet that they all originated from? Is it because that Sera is Earth but it was just given a different name? Or did humanity leave their homeworld sometime in the past? Why no Earth?

It's never revealed if earth is their original planet. Maybe EPIC was trying to be original and call the human planet Sera.

The answer, had you bothered to look it up, is that Sera exists in a different universe than Earth. In the Gears universe there is no Earth.

Its the same reason everyone in Star Trek speaks english....they are supposed to be on Sera - though meantioned as humankind, I look at them as Serans...or the like, if you will
