Another WarGame-G4WLive.exe Error

Hey guys, a problem with recently popped up after weeks of me playing GoW. Everytime i try to run it, i get the following error message:

"C:\Prgram Files\Microsoft Games\Gears of War\Binaries\WarGame-G4WLive.exe: You cannot run the game with modified executable code. Please reinstall the game."

Now, I haven't modified the executable code at all, although I do use the editor and I was really hoping to get some maps up here soon. I've tried reinstalling it numerous times, and got nothing. I'm running P4 3.2GHz rig with 1.5GB RAM and a 7300GT which runs it fine. I suppose it just another case of a would-be decent product being rushed in time for christmas, cheers for any help!!

I got a solution! Turns out that when noise control cut of my power for cranking Megadeath too loud, my cmos battery ran out and my date changed. Simply changed it back :) crazy fools

This is bull****. I had the same problem with the same error message but then I changed my date back to the 27th and now it plays. WTF?

I have the same problem, just happened the other day! This is the response I got from Microsoft. "As I understand, while launching the game, you receive an error message stating C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Gears of War\Binaries\wargame-g4wlive.exe: You cannot run the game with modified executable code. Please reinstall the game. It seems this issue is with the game servers and we are working towards resolution. We do not know when the issue will be resolved." So I got to wait for this tech to get back to me about this issue, and when I know what to do about this, I will post it on here to help you guys. I tried everything else to get this to work, but I still get that message! Got to have patience now!

Now that I think about this, what OS are you running? This maybe microsofts way to nudge us to having to buy Vista and dump XP!

I am running Vista and still have the problem. Just set my date back in Bios and it works fine. Its gonna be a pain in the butt until a solution is provided.

I couldnt get the game to work with the date change even after reinstalling the game a few times..

I always back up my stuff to a second partition so reinstalling windows is easy an quick for me I did that with the date before Jan 25 just to be safe installed the game updates an its been working fine since then..

Just in case those still having problems and are willing to reinstall windows want the game to work theres your fix..

Simply set ur time to January 28,2009 1am. This is a temporary fix and it cant work with windows xp for some reason but it works great with vista.
PS. Gears of war isnt the only game effected by this exe error also check unreal tournament 3

Must be an XP bug, seeing that your Vista OS is accepting the time/date trick.
Mines still FUBAR'd. Guess I'll have to wait till the "powers that be" figure it out and fix it.
I could go on my 360 and play, but nothing matches gaming on the ol' puter ;)
So I shall wait...

hi, I'm new here I'm retrying to replay Gears of War 1 on my PC the problem is that when I click play and error pops up and stops the game. It is always about WarGame-G4WLive.exe. It says you can not play game with modified code. The thing is that I did not enter any code. So can some one help me out? thank you. Ill write the error. Yeah, when you start or reboot your computer you have to go into your bios setup (F2) as your system is booting up and you have to set your calendar date back to before January 28th or somewhere around there. Its a pain in the butt because then all of your dates are wrong on your computer. Good Luck.
