I'm using Max 2009 64-bit. I have the Autodesk Max software subscription.

These are approximate US prices. They vary depending on which specific package and version you get.
Blender, XSI ModTools, GMax and Maya PLE are free.
SI-XSI, Max, and Maya are about $2500 to $3500+ depending on version and bundle, educational versions are much less (~$200+).
Subscriptions are the initial retail price purchase then about $500 per year to maintain the subscription.

I made an installer for the MSUC2 vehicles here which installs '1947 killamobile' along with correct ini files to work with the vehicle replacment mutator:

I use Maya 7.0 Upgraded for the Surface Sampler. I wish I could afford to get up-to-date Software.

Most, if not all, of our modellers use Maya.

Still using Milkshape 3D.
I spent a long time trying to get the hang of blender but its interface was counter-intuitive and couldn't even find an undo function.

In some programs, finding the undo function isn't the problem, it's being able to use it! :)
In my experience the surfacing modeler AliasStudio is the worst offender, you're lucky to get a single undo to work!
