View Full Version : Couple of questions about resubmitting an entry

Hey!

When resubmitting an entry, does the filename have to be the same ?

Am i allowed to enter the team name (in our case "The Haunted Team") under first and last name, since this seems to be what is displayed as author on the contest page.

And finally, there seems to be a problem when entering the phone number. Only the US phone number format seems to work.

Thanks in advance

You can just rename the file.

I'm checking with FilePlanet to see why you're having issues entering your telephone number.

EDIT

The field box for phone numbers is large enough for country codes, and there is no standardized format for phone numbers (just like the zip code field).

You don't have to put a "+" in front of country codes either; we can figure that out. Thanks.

The phone number always says "Invalid format", if it's not entered like this:

123-456-7890

Really weird.

Edit: Nevermind, for some reason it seems to work now. Thank you anyway!

Does these mean there's a way to update what we've submitted with new versions or whatever? Or am I misunderstanding

Who do I contact in order to get some information and to get a map I submitted removed?

I tried sending a PM to Crowl but have yet to see an answer :(

To bad there is no real support e-mail adress since Jeff Morris is gone.
I'am also waiting for an answer because of my submission problem.

Good news, Crowl just sent me a PM saying that he'd be willing to accept the slightly updated version of my map :)

Me too? There's some things that are like a thorn in my side that just don't work as intended, though I might be the only one that will notice.

I think the resubmission is more intented to people who had problems with the upload, while still hittng the deadline. Otherwise a deadline wouldn't make sense.

Figured...It's just a couple player starts that my fixes didn't stick on, that are supposed to start facing 180 degrees from what they are, and some little placements, nothing serious...I just wanted a proper version up since it's gonna be on that fileplanet bit forever, seen by lots of people, and since mine isn't up on the main site yet. But I don't expect exceptions form any rules. I just hoped there was a way to update the one that was on that fileplanet link.

Glad there's some option for people who had trouble though...heard that was going around a bit, but I imagine there were lots of people trying on that last day.

I have a similar question too. Can I replace my old-version entry file with a slightly improved version by submitting it directly to Fileplanet now after the deadline, or I have to submit it as a separate file? I've seen that some entries were updated on October 22-23.

I know that the older version will be judged anyway, just want to improve it for the community.

Ivanov, I can host it if you can't resubmit.

No, you didn't get the point. I mean, they do not allow to change once submitted entry after the deadline, not until judging ends, am I right? I'm asking in general and for the future entries too.
It's not a problem, there are a lot of other sites to host. It's just interesting that many entries were updated even after Oct. 22...

Those entries were submitted the last day but they couldn't post them at the MSUC page until the 22nd. To quote the test on the MSUC frontpage
Phase 2 contest entries were updated on October 21st for submissions sent between 4:00PM and 9:00 PM on October 17th.
