Midnight Mayhem launch program?

I am trying to find out more info on the "Midnight Mayhem" launch program that is mentioned here:

Is there a list of stores that are going to have this midnight launch?

So there really isn't a confirmed "20,000 retail stores worldwide" that are having midnight launches so MS and Epic just chose a real big number that looks nice on the press release? I am not looking forward to driving all over the city in the hopes of finding a store that is participating in this.

So I will never have a golden hammerburst just because my EB Games here isn't big enough to do these kinds of events... kind of a dumb exclusive because people don't get an equal chance at getting it. Gears fans should be able to get it, not just the folks who live in large cities.

Hey if you guys come across a list i'd like to see it too. i'm a big gears fan and i'd like as many cool things that i can get out of this game. if anyone doesn't know, if you pre order at best buy you get a remote control centaur tank from gears for free, but the catch is that there may not be enough for everyone and it has to be the limited edition. way i see it it's free so if you don't get it don't b mad cuz you already got tons of cool stuff with the limited edition

I am looking at bustbuy.com right now, and i do not see the limited edition of the game at all. All they have is the regular version for store pickup or shipping. It was up yesterday. I'm surprised that a major retailer like best buy would be sold out so fast. Hopefully it will be back up in a few days. I will keep you guys posted.

The ending of this commercial (http://www.gametrailers.com/player/usermovies/278762.html) convinced me to pre-order at GameStop today. It's the only store I have seen officially announce they will be having midnight launches for Gears 2.

The limited edition I believe exceeded the pre-orders for Best Buy and thus, they removed it from their site. They were taking pre-orders in store as well, and during the first week of the pre-order, those who pre-ordered the collector's edition will get a remote controlled tank when they pick it up on launch day. It is a Best Buy exclusive promotion which I am sure people will be putting on eBay when they get them.

Chances are Best Buy will be joining in, but only select Best Buy locations, not every single one. Same goes for Game Stop/EB Games locations. Nothing on Circuit City yet, but they may too, even though they are on the verge of collapse as a retailer.

Yeah i just receive an email from customer service and they said my branch wasnt going to be participating...but there was a crap load of others that were gonna...kinda pisses me off alittle but i can be patient...GOD DAMNIT!!!.....(sigh)

Anyway, since im getting the limited edition the code for the golden lancer will come in the box right? Also will that be the same for the golden hammerburst since im going to the midnight release as well.

I called my eb games and they said they were still undecided if they were going to do the event. I hope they have the golden hammerburst codes. It would really suck that I miss out on a cool thing like that just because I live in a crappy place.
