I live right across the highway from that one but I am only harassing the manager I know @ EB Games. I just don't see myself going in there over and over looking for a retail associate with this "pin" every day until release. There's no fun in that.

I just got back from washington sq park. didn't look that thoroughly but no dice. good luck to the other guy that just went. will go back to st patty's went this morning too. Union sq is hard. there are sooo many people just hanging out. I went at three and didn't try hard. The people at union did not want to be disturbed. Union Square is another park located near many popular stores (Virgin Mega Store is a tourist trap for some strange reason). Washington Square park is located right next to NYU.

Its highly possible that the Time Square and Union Square could've been picked up by a casual passerby. Washington Square isn't exactly high traffic, but at 10 o'clock at night it was pretty dark and you had the homeless and drugdealers out en masse (college kids love to get f'd up). St Patrick's Cathedral had an area blocked off by orange cones. Not sure if this had anything to do with people searching areas that the church wasn't comfortable with or if it has to do with anything at all.

I may give another go during daylight if I can find the time.

MAN, too much to type right now cuz im knockout tired but alas i didn't get a cog tag but the experience of trying to find one, it was one of the craziest things I ever did lol. Congratz to Chris on the cog that he got and thanks for the flashlight =P In conclusion to this night Chris got the Union Square Tag, the central park tag was picked up from the marching band ppl, and washington park, St. Patty's and Times Square are MIA.

Me and my friend took the Washington park cog and basically we turned the place upside down. We looked at every single nook and cranny and nothing. We probably covered about a 2 block radius even around the park. One interesting thing that I told a few other groups about was that there was a big tree in the park that is practically hollow from behind. It would have been the perfect place to hide a tag but we searched it pretty well and didn't find anything. On each site I would say, we spent about 2 or more hours .

On the St. Patty's side after ChrisA9's group got the union square tag they proceeded over to St. Patty's. They didn't find any tag and my group also looked there twice and didn't find one. If it is there its extremely hidden well and I give props to whoever did hide that lol. And we even checked past the orange cones and found nothing. There is a ton of plants around and the cog could possibly be somewhere under there but it will definitely take some time and good dose of luck to find the cog if it's there. We were the last team to finish searching at St. Patties and at about 2 of a little over we packed it up and went home.

For the Times Square tag we spent a decent amount of time in the area. We looked in the statues in the middle of times square which didn't have anything and we basically looked around MCDonald's like crazy. I would not be suprised if someone has it and if it was hidden how the tag in Boston was in between the wall and the little fire hydrant thing.

Overall, honestly the experience is what makes this whole entire thing. I thank everybody who made this possible and Waldo and Waterborn for all their help. Well im getting tired now so I'll tell you guys tommorow about all the crazy adventures we had like the drug dealers offering us deals and the crazy squirrels of Union Square that would be practically jumping in our faces =D

according to google satellite both the body armor in the rubble and the scattered papers behind the pickup truck are off of Galley Head point, Ireland, approx 1-2 miles offshore. Cross referenced these coordinates with any marine buoys but did not get an exact match. Possible SCUBA trip? Possible offshore lighthouse? Anyone with friends in South East Ireland?

Wow! So that makes nearly a dozen tags on ebay! I hope Microsoft isn't purposely screwing with us!! We should all write them emails or hand written letters to let them know that this isn't cool! Tell them that the folks probably selling them are the ones who are supposed to give them away in stores or that they're not hiding them well enough because randoms find them and put it on ebay! Argh. I guess.
It'll probably be fruitless though, but still something needs to be done. Yet I know how it can be when there's no coordinates or stores near you giving away tags and you just lose hope and want to take the easy way out. I'm just too broke to be spending hundreds on a cog tag.
So maybe we should convince everyone on here NOT to buy those ebay tags?

It's alright. I won't flame you. I think I'm just irritated that they are showing up on ebay. I know tons more folks visit all these sites but don't contribute to the coversation. Everytime I see Six's twitter, the number of followers he has rises and rises each day. When I first joined into the search, it was the second to third week and only about 120 were following him, look at it now! Crazy.

And yes, I will look forward to chainsawing people. I can't wait to play again (I got to play on Tuesday when I took second place :(!). Man they just made the things great about Gears 1 greater in Gears 2! EEEEEE!!!!!!!!

As for information regarding St. Pat's COG I am really beginning to think it's MIA. My friend and I scoured that area rather hard and found nothing. Plus, it was searched for rather intensely by 7 other teams.

As for the Washington Square Park, keep your eye out on eBay or, at your own risk, talk to some dealers. It's not for everyone. The same goes for the McDonald's one.

UPDATE ON THE TIME SQUARE TAG:well my mom works at time square and she was going to have some co-workers help her look for the tag for me and she had printed a pic of a cog tag to show them what it looks like and one of her co-workers said he had found it there yesterday but he throw it in the garbage not knowing what is.

i think the time square tag is MIA for good but feel free to keep checking just in case but i thinks is true that he throw it away because u cant really mistake how a cog tag looks with anything else

Hey, I just joined this forum... I first learned about the cogs a few weeks ago and i've been waiting to see when the NYC one were going to be around.... and damn-it i missed my chance.... to that guy being upset about there only being one cog in texas and 5 in NYC... yeah, texas may be the second biggest US state, but your population is about 23 million.. the NYC Metropolitan area (tri state area) alone houses about 19million... that's just NYC and its surrounding metro's.. so i wouldn't be that upset... wiki it if you dont believe me..

I work right across the street from yankee stadium so when i learned that they hid one near fenway, I lost my mind and figured i'd do alot of research to see if maybe i can get my hands on one. Side note: We (the Porkfry family, Mrs.Fry, and Small Fry) were going out trick or Treating and my little girl wanted to see the Cog. So I let her hold it in the back seat as we were driving. Then she started putting the cog on her arm and Mrs.Fry didn't want her to get it stuck on there. "No doubt" I said "Because then we'd have to cut the baby's arm off to get the Cog free."

After getting the standard "wife glare" for something that was clearly funny, I reached back to the back seat and grabbed the Cog, only to meet my daughters eyes. Her firey eyes lit with a golem like determination as she clutched the cog with both of her little hands, as she said "MY COG!". Eventually I was able to pry it from her 2 and a half year old steel grip...but her eyes were always on the Cog.

I am not kidding that actually happened.

Yes I did find one by the art museum, specifically behind in the rocks behind the Balbo statue... Yo Adrien!!! anyways I know the one in Rittenhouse Park has been found that was the first place I was but wasnt ballsy enough to go over the fountain wall and reach into lion fountain mouth.....as far as I know these are the two in Philly that have been found, the Drexel campus (b-ball stadium) and the other which comes up to south 4th and market is still up for grabs..... I wen to 4th and market and almost got arrested but pretty commercial area.....was looking around but pretty dark so hopefully when it gets light out good luck to all

There were atleast 2 teams that I know including myself that searched Inside St. Patties as well. We search around the candles and looked around the saints (didn't exactly jump next to them because their sort of chained off and didn't want to disturb anything, it is still a church lol) we looked through the pews (benches) but there are a lot of them and if there in a certain one it is possible that we missed it but its unlikely there placed there.

Times Square one is possible there was talk that it was thrown out but it's not exactly confirmed. Me and my friend were wondering the same thing if it was in the information kiosk but we were looking around later in times square so the information kiosk was closed for the night.

Soup gave the Central Park coordinates to me via IM and I realized that one of them was less then 1.5 blocks from where I work.

I wander into Central Park, and right on the coordinates were some locals.

The locals were street performers setting up their table/stand thing pretty much right on top of the cog.

They had zero idea what the thing was when they picked it up off the ground (Those coordinates are accurate to the foot, in case in you were wondering).

Now, I work in the financial world, so I'm dressed kinda like a "Man In Black" I had a dark gray trench, black shoes/pants and dark sunglasses.

I approached the locals and said: "You've located the COG?" and I swear, two of them took three steps back. One went so far as to actually look up, like either a camera or a silent black helicopter was bearing down to blackbag the three of them.

He would not stop looking skyward. No joke, I'm not creative enough to make that up, and it took everything in me not to laugh.

They had no clue as to what they had. I asked them if they were gamers. No. Heard of Gears of War. No. OK... have a nice day!

I start to head back to my office and they are like "Yo, wait a second, hold up!" But, I do not have the COG in my possession, so I ignore them.

I get back to the office and tell Soup the story and send him the pic. He tells me about the CSID code and how the guys on the forums would like me to see if I could at least get it.

I figure, why not? That's the least they could do, is give me the code, so I head back to Central Park.

The performers were still there and they were excited to see me. I asked them if I could write the code from the COG down, and they were like "Oh yeah! Sure!"

Then, I just blurt out... Ya know what? Why don't you just give me the COG? I'll give ya $5 for it.

The one holding it says: "Man, this is easily worth $20!"

I fire back: "I'll give ya $10"

"Deal!"

..and I walked away heavy one cog and light ten bucks. Winners all around.

I was at 4th and walnut today looking for that one again (3rd time now). It's closed off after 5 by a 10 foot gate. but if you of average weight you can slide under it. If not it's pretty easy to climb up along side of it and get over. Just be on the look out for cops

Some of them will only unlock wallpapers, posters or audio files. I think it asks for your name only when the CSID code unlocks a tab in the site...

Yeah that is true but when they were releasing coordinates one at a time and in semi hidden places here in California, I still got way depressed over my lost chances. :( Still am a bit sad but I think now that they are doing massive drops in populated areas and randoms or people looking for easy money find them, I think I'm more irritated at them now than I am sad.
But didn't Six post something on his twitter along the lines of it's not the amount of free stuff a company gives you that shows how much they care so I'm just trying to keep that in mind and I hope folks looking for tags keep that in mind too and don't try to make a quick buck out of it.
Anyway, maybe they should stick it in more mouths in fountains like where Timo found his. If there's a higher risk of getting injured or arrested, maybe that'll keep folks away? I don't know. Just good luck to us all!

Well, that's true. This is a great effort that the guys at Epic and MS are doing to spur interest in the game. Believe me, I'm trying to be positive about it, but it seems that there's some people out there that wants to ruin the fun, and that pisses me off.

And on top of that, there's the fact that I've been thinking on how to get actively involved in the search, but I haven't found any way to do so. I don't live in any of the countries that have been getting tags, so there's no possible way I can help anyone looking for them (or finding a tag on my own, or that matter). Nevertheless, I try to follow this thing closely and post any info I find at Six's twitter or at The Last Day site.

Oh well, that was just me venting. Good luck indeed to everyone.

Not everything opens stuff on the last day site, so remember to still post your CSID so other people can get new wallpapers and icons. Stuff that unlocks tabs on the last day site will ask for your name.

I picked mine up today, after telling the manager the password (Lancer) at the store here in Adelaide. Also got a T-Shirt signed by Cliffy B.

The Rittenhouse tag was found by me, and it was VERY well hidden. Probably one of the best so far. It was further in the mouth than the pic and covered with leaves. There was no way someone walking by could see it.

Thats the problem =/ washington square and st patrick's both had cobblestone areas. I messaged the person on ebay and asked where he had found the tag and if he had entered the CSID # but he only replied saying he had entered the CSID #.
