Excellent map! The level design works really well with Lance. Probably my new LNC favorite. :)

Some nice ambient sound could give the map a boost.

just finished trailing

this is great work! i love all your other previous work and i like the concept of this new map, there are some suggestions i added but i have found that i really enjoyed this map even in its early beta stages.

Improvements

Lighting needs to be worked on its very dark and not easy to see enemies & teamates

Map is a little to big as you have to always look for the action as its either on both sides & rarely any fights in the midddle
(I suggest shorting the map a little to accommodate gameplay and induce more fluency, making the middle part more smaller to make the map more round instead of rectangular)

If possible add some weapon placements in any of your maps so it can be turned into practice for some, i rarely find a sniper laying around from a dead corpse


all in all i think your one of the best Gears of War PC modders out there with TheInterlock, kudos to you and your creation of bot matches

i really love this new enhanced feature.so the match could last longer ,maybe 8vs8,100 ,and more life next time,LOL!!...i agree the Lighting is a little dark.hope some more brighter will make it perfect...


but i don't agree the map is too big, on the contrary, bigger map is so much more fun than samll one, there are more tactical move and sniper shooting enjoyment,it's not too crowded and no died often.
i just hope kantham could convert some offical mp to lance...:o


and i think make weapon placement is not a good idea, because you can pick up but bot can't ,that's unfair for a match, and they are already slow.
so i suggest add sniper to random player spawn weapon,just like lancer, bow, grenade launcher,etc, so you and bot both got a equal chance...


finally thank again and cheer for kantahm to bring us a new lance tdm bot map,you are a great map mod maker of gears pc, bring a lot of nice sp play feature to mp with bot!!!...thank god brings you and other tdm bot map makers here!!... :)

those mp map makers could learn from kantham, mp always need online and find sb,but just like ut maps, you can play lance offline and still get a lot of fun...

Where exactly are the new rules stored, in the map or .upk file? If I overwrite my old one, will the other maps also have the new rules?

Thanks for the comments guys. I'll keep the Lightning in mind, make it brighter.
Some thoughts: Yes, the middle area (inside the building) is getting a little empty, however, you still need to travel indoor to access other areas, so you can't really tell from a game or 2. I played at least 10 entire games so far, and I've seen quite a few roam around the main corridor.

Lynat is designed big, it's the biggest of them I have worked on indeed. But needless to say, I already have another project that is smaller, and another one will feature the smaller player count.

Rohit_N: Not sure what you mean, but if you want to get one working for Lance you must import it in. I still have no words on where the "hidden" file is inside the map I published for convert, the one file that gets the multiplayer "rules" like fall down, and heads are destructible when downed, ETC ETC ETC. The UPK file only contains archetypes (characters).

This is my fav map and very good job Kantham.

[Themes]
I really love the themes in this one. It is dark, the lighting is amazing and the atmosphere around is outstanding. I really love the tight indoors because the building is like a mansion which makes the firefight more interesting and thrilling.

[Improvements]
While i know this is just a Beta since you launched it so we can test it, i must say this work is almost completed imo. Some spots is coverable but you cannot move of some sorts while in cover. http://i38.tinypic.com/f1h3jb.jpg

And i don't know if it is just me but it feels like every first time i load this map when opening the game it stutters a lot at the beginning because it is rendering the texture. Yet this issue aren't appearing on your previous LNC maps. Maybe it is Beta and you're working on optimizing it. I don't know ;)

[Conclusion]
This is my favourite map so far. I love the indoors fight and outside and mainly the map is a little bit big but big is great comparing the others. The AI reacts as expected and the 6v6, Golden Wretch and Stranded features are just brilliant.

I love that you switches theme so since you now have Dark and Snowy themes. So i wonder if your next map project could be set inside a cave like an imulsion factory or some sort?
Like in Act 4 to quote Cole ''Wow, look at all that juice''

Anyway outstanding job Kantham. ;)

Kantham Is the reason your maps dont stutter at the start because you place marcus in this boxed room way on the other side of the map ?

BurnedInternal: I suppose stutter issues are different from one PC to another? I personally never experienced that before. But I can tell you that all of my levels never go over 35 MB, and they are mostly 8-12MB zipped.

Lightmaps may be an issue here, but then you "converted" a MP level. That's weird.

The weird thing about this is that every previous LNC maps Sabek, Facade, RedAlert and Orion the stutters never occurs at the beginning. Maybe BurnedInfernal might be right about the White Box. It renders much faster when there are no details on the view from what i believe.
Or maybe Kantham may be right about your map being that means file size.

Oh yeah that's a normal thing. Actually, I thought about trying to add a swat turn for those windows. I did not add any cover near the windows, it's probably a personal preference, I just mantle over them, or just don't take much cover at all unless I want to blind fire.What's the little guy in the BG? Can't read.

Ahh okay. Because it would be a nice addition to have it so i could blindfire or play a little Swat-kind-Of-Thing. Anyway, my brother is enjoying this map so great job Kantham. :) Thanks for answering now i know it is clear.

I started to work on the final, I'm namely adding ambiant sounds, a brighter lightning overall, more lights. The 2-doors-room now only has one, and it leads to the main corridor, I don't know if I'll add another spawn somewhere. Any suggestions? Also I replaced the stranded by a COG-tamed Wretch.

hehe cute. Yeah looks good enough. Yeah another spawn point would be nice because i am getting spawn kill a lot of times right now.

I think wretches is a brilliant idea. But i have to be honest and say Stranded wasn't a bad idea afterall. It really makes more sense that Cogs gets a stranded and Locust gets a Wretches. But it might be a little unfair for the locust since Stranded seem kinda overpower in certain circumstances. But that is up to Kantham to impress us. =)

if you want to change , why not a boomer for locust ,2 stranded for cog, bring more fun...:D

anyway, your choice kantham...u always the best innovative gears mapper!!...;)

That was not a bad idea after all. That could make a fair fight for CoG and Locust. I am just aware of the lag but i doubt it would causes too much lag. :p

i should say this is my favorate map, it's big , a lot of place to cover and move around,

so much more fun than lance maps before,

more brighter in final version will make it a superb master piece....

Not sure that can be done. Kantham, is it possible for the opposing team to get their bonus after enough kills?

Technically yes. It truly is possible.

I'm still hesitating for the COG tamed wretch, not sure. It does work well, but I do think they should have their own individual bonus. However it's not really a bad idea, but if I'm/we're ever going to like it, going back to the older levels without that tamed wretch is going to be annoying.

Another impressive effort here Kantham. You've done it again. As other mentioned the lighting could be improved. I can't tell the Therons from the walls. but other than that its awsome as always.

The final version is about done, I'm using it for testing Lance 2.
