What is a good connection for Xbox live?

hey guys, i was wondering what kind of connections you all had. Mine is 4MBps download and 368KB upload. Needless to say, the upload is horrible. I get atleast 1 full second of bullet lag in every match i join. I have the option of upgrading my connection to... (Download/Upload) 6Mbps/768KB, 8MBps/1MBps and finally 16MBps/1MBps (<---a little pricy). I am wondering what the gears community is running on and what i should get for minimum lag. depends on whether your hosting..with your connection i wouldn't recommend it(mine is around 7mbps with 500kbps but it changes speeds if the wind blows in the wrong direction).. honestly people should only host if they have really good fiber optic provider or T1(DS1) connection since it doesn't really degrade over distance since they're similiar to a phone line..T3 would be awesome

Gears of War was notorious for its connection problems that seemed to affect everyone. I have a 20 mbps connection and I still get massive lag, all I can say is look forward to Gears of War 2.
