jesus lol that was probably the craziest story out of the cog tags =o. Your lucky too cause if you found a tarantula in the mountains, tarantulas can be extremely poisonous. This also bring up a huge point that our coordinates could be way off on some of these tags. I hope a few more pop up on the east coast so I can have a crazy adventure lol. So first off let me say that this was definitely a trip to remember. It ranks up there with camping out for my 360 for 36 hours in the poring rain. I'll try not to bombard you guys with too many details but I gotta make this a fun read. =]

So we started off by leaving 7 in the morning and driving for 4 hours to get to Reno, NV. We live in Northern Cali so it's a ***** lol. Anyways were chattin it up in the car about how freaking cool it would be to actually find this hunk of greatness for about to hours until we come up fast on this stupid highway patrol. After a good five minutes he pulls us over! We were goin 70 in a 65 (all he saw was 70..haha. i drive more lik 90 but you know..) He walks up to my window with a rat in his ass..he is completely pissed off asking me if I understand what a speed LIMIT is. Long story short he let us off with a warning and calle din our car for other cops to be on the lookout for.

2 more hours later we finally arrive past Reno in Sparks, NV. We see the damn watter tower! haha. only problem is the roads were kind of messed up in the directions so we had to navigate from sight. We finally found the road to glory..its a SHOT GUN RANGE! so we drive right past the building and up to where we thought the coordinates were at. After a good 5 minutes of searching a few phone calls to Waldo this hispanic guy who works there asks us whats up..we explain very little and he says its alright to look around. After about a half hour he comes back saying his boss doesnt want us up here so I grab the radio and talk to the head honcho. It turns out hes a pretty chill guys and lets us stay up there after I explained the whole thing to him! the only drawback is he told us they were having some people come to shoot in an hour and a half and we needed to be out of there.

Mouleman23 (Trevor) and I (Matt) started dashing up the road to where all the little skeet ammo shacks are located. I forgot to mention that this Mexican guy was explaining that two guys just like us were up here last week doing the same thing we were..but they had a camera and asked to be permitted to take pictures..SO SIX AND SOMEONE ELSE DID ACTUALLY GO hahaha. I guess they walked alllllll over the place (much like we did) and they had a pistol..they started shooting beer bottles and stuff..and got into some trouble. hahaha. fun **** right? Just thought I would share some intel this worker shared with us..*back to the story* We had just called up NataSS and he was helping us out too..he told us to look all up to the left. Being the crazy, headcase Gears fans we are..we dart up that damn mountain. We looked from A to Z I swear to God. It was beginning to look like a total nightmare. We checked anyting from those skeet shacks (all 10 of them) to random rocks, to even a telephone pole at the very tip of the mountain..NO LUCK! After about 2.5 hours (the boss never made us leave) we gave NataSS a call again. Oh wait i forgot..Trevor and I aren't exactly...spider savy? and well.. a freakin HUGE tarantula spider showed up while we were spanning the mountain side.. I took a picture but i forgot to save. It scared the ever living crap out of us; and of course like an dude Trevor had to throw freakin rocks at it to piss him off while i got close with the camera hahaha.

Here'es where the juice is guys..
We call NataSS and he is trying to help us out with GPS. Google earth was the total reason why we got this thing. The location that Waldo had in Google maps was actually hundreds of yards off of where it was actually found. This isnt his fault at all its google maps locating the coordinated wrong..So NataSS types in the coordinates on google earth and he can see alot more detail and mountain region. We were on the wrong side looking for it at that point (dont worry we looked on both sides though) and I was explaining to him about the little rest area with a tree they has in the dirt parking lot and he said to go about 30 feet east and well..Trevor starts yelling and jumping up and down..its the ****ING COG TAG!!!! hahah. it was amazing! He was like is this really happening? Did we just find this freakin thing?!? it was soo surreal! He nabs it up like Frodo in LOTR and wont even let me see it (I drove, found out about this stuff, and paid for everything so i was like wtf?) haha but he finally was the friend he really is and let me take a look. I couldn't believe it guys..it was a real Cog Tag! So we hopped in the car and went off to Chilis for a victory Lunch. We eneded up getting lost on the way home and added an hour to our trip.
Overall this road trip was so awesome..from cops, to arachnids, to ****ed up GPS hahaha. this thing had just about every obstacle.
So there you guys have it..from two true hardcore Gears lovers to many more..

And that one is most likely lost. I had a worker check, i gave him an exact description of what i was looking for and where it was and he didn't find it. I watched him look for it from as close as i could get while still being outside the barrier.

Man we spent some time on the phone! LOL! I am just glad I could be there to help guide you in. TRUST me when I say I was just as excited as you guys were when I heard you both screaming through the phone. I actually jumped out of my chair and yelled "HELL YES" (with an office lobby full of clients). My heart jumped when I heard "IS THAT THE COG"?!

I am just glad I could have been part of the team. You might have to send that COG up to me so I can have some "visitation rights" J/K.

For me it was almost a feeling of those Tom Clancy books when the guys doing the Black Bag work are getting fed information from a guy watching a satelite. Now I know how the other half felt when I was in the Corps.! GOOD TIMES, GOOD TIMES!!!!!

Onto other issues.......
The Seattle COG........WTF six. I have now blown close to 8 hours up there at that coordinance. I was there today with Trac, Jugger, SocialXtina and we are now totally believing that the COG has either not been placed or is chiefwiggams COG. Is it to much to ask for a confirmation? Seriously, she left work early, I left work early (have my own business, doesnt pay to cut early but I have a passion for the game), Trac skips a cardiovascular presentation in med school and Jugger spent hours ripping the campus up for the most part. JUST GIVE IT TO US STRAIGHT. IS IT THERE OR NOT?!?!?!?

I also need to ask you to try and fix the issue with me being the "identifier" for exo's tag. It was an honest mistake and I seriously feel bad about it. I was plugging info in at the GAS PUMP to try and get an icon and as soon as I hit enter it threw me over to an area that was previously locked and said I found it?????? If this cant be resolved I will just have to monetarily try and reimburse exo., I feel that bad about it.

Just throw us a bone on the Seattle COG. for the love of 6lb 5oz baby jesus, please!!!

Ahhh, now I have everyone's attention, that's for sure. How nice it would feel to be able to report that the Seattle UW cog tag has been found, but no such luck. Since of some you are night owls, gather around as Uncle Jugger here has a short novel of what happened during "Epic Cog Search 2008" down at the UW this afternoon/evening. Spielberg just called me, said he wants to turn this posting into his next film. An "Indiana Jones meets E.T." type of film, non-fiction, so here goes....

I arrived down at the coordinates, in solo-mode, around 3:30pm on Wednesday. As I began to look around in the "wide open space" that makes up the coordinates, I spotted a young female looking in the bushes while talking on the phone. Now, I figured perhaps this young lady was looking for her lost cat, perhaps even a missing text book, but when we made eye contact, I knew that she was on the cog tag prowl. She was the one...the only...SocialXTina (had never met her before this, but am talking her up here because she was quite cool). We teamed up, and was joined by a third searcher, MonkeyDil I believe, but waiting on confirmation if that was him. We formed an unstoppable force...the quest for the holy cog tag had begun....again.

We discussed what we had heard, and read, and I mentioned the areas my nephew and I had checked the night before. We covered everything from searching in pipes, under electrical boxes in the ground, sprinkler boxes, in trees, under bushes, indivisibly, with liberty and justice for all. While we split up to search, we kept constant eye contact and communication with each other in case the evil Horde tried to take one of us down. As we walked north west of the coordinates (for the record, the grassy area in the Google Map image is to the west) we decided to check the cathedral-like pillars that I had mentioned on Tuesday. I noticed a guy laying down on one of the benches. He asked what I was searching for an quickly explained. He was intrigued, hadn't heard of it, but thought it would be fun to search, so he began his side quest for fortune and glory (i.e. the damn cog tag!).

Headed towards the fountain. The one that has been discussed here, and I **** you not, there is NO way the cog tag is in the fountain. While it was spurting out water in a magical display, as if mocking us, Waldo, I know you mentioned about checking it but as Obi-Wan said in Star Wars..."That's no moon, it's a space station". This thing is a small pond, as those in my party will agree, if the cog tag is there, we welcome someone to jump in and look for it. If anyone saw the movie Robocop, the scene where one of the biker guys gets the radioactive material dumped on him....well, I think you would get the point. The ducks were immune though to the toxic levels in the water. I decided though to be brave, to maneuver around the gobs of Goose and Duck crap, and lean over and look at each of the ladders leading down into the pond (yes, there were ladders that went down into the water, which was probably a good five feet deep and rather dark). I was hoping to find perhaps a cog tag chained to one of the ladders, but no such luck. Even the ducks were curious as they swam towards me, but when they realized I had nothing for them, they "gave me the bird" and swam elsewhere.

Students were out, so to "blend in" I brought my back pack. Now, if I only I could have disguised the fact that I am 38 years old. I did take a photo of the pond for those that are curious so you can see just how big it is though, just not sure how to post it here. We searched, going off in the woods, looking under what appeared to be miles of foliage, on tree branches, under more pipes, small sewer-like lids, trash cans, benches, pretty much anything and everything. And we were thorough. Luckily no one asked what we were doing, and Campus Police was non-existent. The new guy here that just signed up (and I am sorry new guy for spacing on your name) had to leave so it left SocialXTina and I. We took a break and sat on a bench and discussed where it could be, etc. We were right across the road on the map image of where the arrow points, perhaps thinking someone would come along and just drop the cog tag and run off.

We decided to check out another area, the science building to the north of the coordinates. Of course, we found nothing. We headed back across the street where we met up with two more brave souls, NataSS_Inc and Trierarchus (again, I am hoping I have the right name here Tri). We introduced ourselves and stood right on the coordinates, discussing where the cog tag could be. We obviously determined it is on the ground and not up in a tree, or on a lamp post (trust me people "up in a tree" would require about 100 people looking for a good solid day). We did spot an older Asian woman walking on the sidewalk with a limp, and we suspected that she secretly had the cog tag under her pant leg and was going to dump it out. We quietly discussed jumping her and grabbing the tag, but held back. She walked past us, no cog tag was dropped. Damn! I am sure Tina, Tri and NataSS are smiling right now.

Tri had to leave so the three of us looked around some more but we came to the following conclusions: If the cog was placed directly at said coordinates, then it could have EASILY been picked up by anyone, a student, Campus Police, maintenance workers, hell, at this point even a Keebler Elf, since there are lots of trees were they could be making their cookies. Hundreds if not thousands of people walk that trial every day and into the night as they head for their classes. Again, this is IF it was placed directly at the coordinates, or even within 25 feet or so of it. They began talking about "Six" but I would mistakenly refer to him as "Tweeter" getthing his Tweeter updates confused with his name (being outside looking for a Cog tag for 3 hours will make you lose it if you will). I am tempted though to refer to Six as "Tweeter" for now on though, it's easier for me. To the south of the coordinates lies another building and looking at it from the benches we were sitting on, to me, and the others agreed, it had a very "Gears of War" feel to it. Not sure what building it was, but looked like what could pass as an old church in the game. I decided to check it out, walking well into the bushes checking the perimeter of the building. I noticed a black box, went to investigate only to determine it was big large rat-traps, not quite big enough to catch a 38 year old guy though. Ugh, what the hell am I doing standing off in the bushes as young students walked by. I was waiting for someone to scream out "There is a Monster over there, run for your lives!".

We noticed that the grass had been freshly cut, and perhaps if it was out in the open, it easily would have been picked up, or cog tag + lawn mower = future Gears of War 3 in-game sound effect. It was getting dark, rain drops began to fall, but we remained for a short while longer. We were all frustrated and decided that we five that have been out there searching simply deserve our very own cog tags that say "Cog Tag: 1 Team Seattle: 0". We did also discuss that perhaps no such cog tag exists, in that perhaps it hasn't even been placed just yet, in that someone is having fun with us and perhaps even they were "watching us" as we were "camping the spawn point" according to XTina. We parted ways, Team Seattle left in defeat, and not a moment too soon, the rain started coming down as we left.

The good thing about today is that I met some really cool people, and that is what it's all about. No, really, those aren't tears in my eyes everyone, I sniff...sniff...I need to get a tissue. Group hug! I came home after driving XTina home (yes a kind soul I am), and watched the godawful "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" for the first time on Blu-Ray that I rented. Good lord, I would rather be out searching for the cog than have to sit through that again.

I don't see myself making it down on Thursday, perhaps if we have some clues to work with because I know that place like the back of my hand now, and while I have my own business and work from home, I have to get caught up on work-related business. Maybe Friday though...

Looking for the Fenway tag, I knew exactly where the photo was taken. I got there, scanned in scene, looked for pipes, construction, broken stone... there wasn't a whole lot. Went up and down, ended up circling the ballpark several times. In the end, the trick was to stand in the exact spot the photo was taken, and look around for potential hiding spots. To my left, about 8-10 yards away, was the small pipe--the COG tag was wedged behind it.

I didn't find the tag at first, because someone was sitting right next to the pipe with his dog, blocking my view! When I passed by again, I noticed the pipe and found it.

I have feeling that this is to get more people really connected into Gears and to try to get people to have an emotional connection to the game. Think about all the friends we've made and connections and clues we've found, think about those random looks and crazy places we've been just for small piece of metal that may or may not exist.

even if its not meant to be that way and the cog is supposed to unlock part of the story on the last day site..they mistakenly stumbled upon this as well. I really like that they did this. It's pretty cool knowing not more than likr 6 other ppl have what you have.

ya dude seriously..im pretty proud of epic for doing all this..granted it helps them out financially probably but at the same time they introduced me to a bunch of new people and a few friends now. It's a memory ill never forget and be able to tell my kids about when they ask me about all the stupid **** I did growing up.

So I was thinking...

Looks as if Tags have been dropped in many countries with around 5 or so in each of these countries? Seems as if it is some sort of race between the regions of each country to find their COG first and enter it to unlock that part of the website.

Since the first from each country to find the COG and enter it get their name put on their site... I'm guessing there will be a launch event similar to ZERO HOUR? and the winners from each of the countries will be invited?

In my dreams anyways.

As I said earlier, i explained the situation to an employee and he looked in the lamps at the base and said there was nothing there. There is heavy consturction going on around the base. When i was there, there were guys standing in the garden where the lights are , working on a scaffolding. Since this tent has been up since Monday, my guess is this tag is gone. Some crew member probably found it and was like WTF is this and tossed it out or took it home.

Either way, i'm pretty sure the crew i had look for me didn't miss it, it's probably gone.

As I said earlier, i explained the situation to an employee and he looked in the lamps at the base and said there was nothing there. There is heavy consturction going on around the base. When i was there, there were guys standing in the garden where the lights are , working on a scaffolding. Since this tent has been up since Monday, my guess is this tag is gone. Some crew member probably found it and was like WTF is this and tossed it out or took it home.

Either way, i'm pretty sure the crew i had look for me didn't miss it, it's probably gone.

I will laugh if it becomes medal for the winner, and then you should borrow it indefinately.

It does indeed look merely like a residential neighborhood.

The unconverted coordinates are somewhere in the top of the lake in San Carlos (not the most exciting of areas, I can speak firsthand).

I was hoping there would be a clue or something today and I might hop up there after work.

Six is on the west coast and i believe in an Epic studio walkthrough, they said core business hours are 10a-5p, other than that you can swing early or late as long as you're there during core hours. So for all you east coast peeps, that's like 1pm your time if he doesn't get in till 10.

look, I'll just break into union square again. I know you guys are talking about the big statue, but I jumped the fence and walked right up to it. That's not where the cog is. It's at a memorial plaque, maybe right around there. But it's not at the statue. If any new info comes in, I'll go back over there.

That is the ONLY wall at union square that looks like the picture with lettering etched into the stone. I walked around looking for a wall like that and finally asked a couple people in uniform that had Union Square staff where there was a wall like that. They said the only place is the statue.

If you walk around the square, there are plenty of lettered areas but they're all the green marble and there are no plants that look like the ones inthe picture, likewise there are no sunken lights, they're all up out of the ground facing up into the tress. The only place there is a wall like that, plants like that and lights like that are the base of the statue IF it's at Union Square.

The name of the Statue you guys are referring to is The Dewey Monument Marker. If there are numerous statues in the area, I think pointing out which one it is would be of tremendous help.

If the cog was placed directly at said coordinates, then it could have EASILY been picked up by anyone, a student, Campus Police, maintenance workers, hell, at this point even a Keebler Elf, since there are lots of trees were they could be making their cookies.

Compare the first picture in the quote with the picture SIX posted (above) that shows the cog in the light.... the words are the same, the power boxes are the same, the words line up the same with the power boxes and you can see the light reflector sticking up. That's where the cog is . It's a match, there's really nothing more to debate and the cog isn't there according to the staff member i had look.

If you hopped the fence on wednesday to look, it was probably already gone. They've been working in that area since Sunday. I was there Monday at lunch and the tent was already up and workers working in there.

This viral campaign runs like a freakin' Yugo. There really needs to be a little more organization about which cogs have been found and which haven't. We've been asking about the Chief Wiggum tab for days, and just now Six decides to mention something. I've owned an xbox for about 3 months, and so this is the first viral I've participated in...and now perhaps my last. Anyway, good luck finding the rest. Meanwhile, I have to go catch up on studying for a urinary system exam that I put off to find an elusive (and as of when? non-existent) cog.

The others that were found were updated immediately, and had we all known, we would not have taken time off from work, classes, etc. Did anyone force us to go down there? No, of course not, but at the same time, updates were made to other cogs as soon as they were found, but the Seattle one sounds like it was found on either Sunday or Monday, and today is Thursday and we are just receiving word that it had been found days prior.

Perhaps the Gears gods will shine down upon us and Six can make something happen for the relentless group that devoted a lot of time looking for it. There were about five of us I believe....

I've put in 6 hours myself and ~$20 in transportation since MOnday and even came into the city on my day off to look for the damn Union Square cog tag that probably ended up tossed in the trash by some event worker. :mad: And there's no OFFICIAL update on that one either other than myself and EXO saying it ain't there where it's suppose to be.

I have not seen some of the others post their frustrations, but I can imagine they are coming.

San Francisco people, learn from the mistake up here, your cog is more than likely picked up, but then again, it may not be. If it is placed in an open area like the Giants Stadium one, and Omaha one, then you take the risk of something picking it up that has no idea what it is, since those were pretty visible to just about anyone.

Like I said, perhaps the devoted lot of us here in Seattle will receive something Gears-related, for our relentless pursuit of an item that had been gone for days. Dedicated players and fans I guess we must be. But, in the end, it was our choice, and nice people were met during the process.

It's still a choice you make to play a game, whether you know it'll be fruitful or not - priorities, you place value on your goals. A game shouldn't come before school, or work, or family, to the point that if you 'lose' (by your own fault or anyone else's) you blame the game instead of the choice you made.

They were updated so quickly because the people that found them were quick to update everyone with their information. People have lives too, outside of this ARG, so you can't imagine that everyone is going to be able to update you all the time. And that's only if they WANT to update you. It could be equally likely that they could care less who else goes and looks for it once they already have it and don't want to tell anyone anything beyond that.

It's way quicker for people to just enter the ID into the website as requested with the COG than join the forum, wait for the verify email and then post in here that they found the cog.

I work here... i'm here. I'm not going to Union Square again though. EXO said he checked the lights on Tuesday and nothing was there and I had a staff member check the lights on wednesday telling him exactly where it was after Six released the picture and he found nothing. And last night they were putting a scaffolding around the base of the statue so you may not even be able to see/get to where the cog is even if you got past security and got in to the tent.

As for the Noe one, that hasn't been confirmed as a real legit site. Nor has the other one in San Carlos. I'm not going to hunt for those until there's some official information about them. People are just typing any numbers they find on the website into google earth and announcing it as a new cog location. So i'll wait. Noe is quite a distance from where i work, i'd need to cab it and i'm not going to spend that much $ unless i know it's official.

exo, you and the worker checked the lights but looking at the construction picture, it seems like the only lights you could've checked would've been the front and side ones, but reading exo's post it sounds like he checked them all. Although, it also seems like he couldn't find the plaque either, which is on the rear of the statue.

San Carlos one, if confirmed, needs a big hint, because that place is a residential neighborhood in the woods. It's not fun to walk around there (especially in your business clothes like I did last night). It makes more sense that it would be Noe though, if confirmed. It's at least in a city.

Anyone attempting to go to Union Square, DO NOT GO. I just got back from there, and there are so many security people and cops around that it's impossible to sneak inside. Last night I walked right up to the tower and looked around, it was only for like 30 seconds because I was pants crapingly terrified that I'd get busted, so maybe I just didn't see anything. I talked with a security person and she was like, "forget it dude, if it's in there it's long gone." There are tons of people all around working in there.

Anyone attempting to go to Union Square, DO NOT GO. I just got back from there, and there are so many security people and cops around that it's impossible to sneak inside. Last night I walked right up to the tower and looked around, it was only for like 30 seconds because I was pants crapingly terrified that I'd get busted, so maybe I just didn't see anything. I talked with a security person and she was like, "forget it dude, if it's in there it's long gone." There are tons of people all around working in there.

Yeah but I'm bored, and with Six saying that it's "not lost", kind of piques my interest..

Unfortunately it is about a 5 hour drive, My family just took a trip to vegas last month. I would hate to see one in vegas, I'm broke and there is no way I could afford to go to vegas and get a hotel for maybe a couple of nights. Who knows how long it could take to find one! I say if you have the $40 + tx for gears one (or u can put it on gears 2 if you hadnt yet, only 22 days! :D) You can get a lil ready for 2 by refreshing your memory of the story and play through it again before the 7th. If spending the money makes it so you can't get 2, or if you think you can hold off till the 7th, just wait cause Gears 2 seems to have everything that gears one has and more. So, I think it really depends on your financial situation. Honestly though,Original Gears New = $40 somthin for 2 discs is worth owning someday even after buying gears 2, maybe not for online play but to know you can start the story anytime you want...:D

Hey Gearin, it seems that they are several diehard Gears fans here in the Beantown region. So if you do make it out way, let us know. I would love to organize a New England gathering to kick off the release of GOW2.

Me too, Mencia sucks. Not as adult/explicit/gangster as chapelle, yet pretty hilarious. They had a rapper spoof that made me ROFL and a pretty funny treaty based on the N-Word, so yeah i liked it. It doesnt fill the void Chapelle left but its more than decent

So, I got to thinking. What if they took a picture of the COG tag there in the light as a hint to the inscription written on the statue? That inscription on the monument was the 5th part constructed after the finishing of the underground parking garage. Has anyone checked underground in the garage? Just a thought.

Hey whats up everybody im sort of new here but ive been following along and finally decided to register seeing as in theres not to many LA people in here, well as you guys already know im in the LA area and have been trying to keep up to speed with everything and i seen todays summary and seen six's twitter seems he think the ebay tag is the city walk tag i disagree on it i think it belongs to the guy MDK six has a picture of him in his flickr albums with the tag and says he found it at E for all, and last night i msged the guy who is seeling the tag on ebay and he said he found it at an LA even (e for all) the pic on ebay matches that of the one on six's flickr account so im assuming the city walk tag is still out there problem is im not sure where to start looking if anyone sees any hints or has any ideas im open to it i may head up there tomorrow to check it out

Nata, you and I are in the minority on that one. I understand what people mean by others not being able to update, but it is easy for them to say that since the Seattle one seemed to be one of the only one that was found days ago, but an update didn't come until well after the fact. Sure, everyone has lives as one poster commented, but so do those who spent days looking for something that wasn't there. Hopefully they can understand just where I, Nata, XTina, MonkeyDil, and others are coming from as well, and allow us the ability to voice such frustrations. I did point out the positives during all of this though, and tried to remain optimistic. Perhaps "Six" (aka Tweeter) will see that other cog tags get placed around the Seattle area. But, perhaps not.

Want a cog tag for a lot cheaper than the one's on e-bay, here is what you do:

1) Find your local college or university with an engineering program
2) Find a junior or senior student in mechanical engineering
3) show them a picture of the cog and offer then $50 + materials (cheap) to design one for you in pro/E (should take like 5 minutes, wording an all) and then put a block of aluminum on an automatic lathe
4) Ask him nicely to buff it out a little for you
5) enjoy cog

I was an engineer in my undergrad and this is seriously super easy to do

Nothing has been released because there isn't really anything to release. They haven't gotten to the casting stage, filming locations, etc. It sounds like it will happen, even though another Hollywood strike is looming, but if I hear anything, I will let you guys know, maybe a "movie" thread will get started closer to that time.

Well I do sell them, I deal strictly in the originals that aren't intended for purchase, if you know what I mean. Movie posters you see in movie theaters aren't available for purchase in stores, but through dealers like me, you can get them. Some dealers can get the hot stuff people want, some dealers can't. Dark Knight was the big one this year (and a few others like Iron Man), but so many people have been offering up reproductions and knockoff's, the collectors want the authentic stuff and that is where I come in. Mall store, video store posters, etc are all garbage, the real collectible ones the theatrical styles.

Movie posters you see in movie theaters aren't available for purchase in stores, but through dealers like me, you can get them. Some dealers can get the hot stuff people want, some dealers can't. Dark Knight was the big one this year (and a few others like Iron Man), but so many people have been offering up reproductions and knockoff's, the collectors want the authentic stuff and that is where I come in. Mall store, video store posters, etc are all garbage, the real collectible ones the theatrical styles.

You misinterpreted. The area is in lock down by the police keeping order while the event is going on, they're there to keep people out that don't belong while the event is going on. I didn't say (or mean) that the police had the cog tag in jail and was holding it at gunpoint :) . The cog tag is gone. EXO actually snuck in there yesterday and looked around and I gave a staff member detailed instructions on where it was and they looked and told me it was gone as well.

EXO was there today and reported on the real police security detail, not just 'security' staff. Where as monday through wednesday was just setup (actually i think they've been working there at least since Sunday) and it was possible to get into the area if you blended in.

Did anyone ever think that the Union Square one is not by the center statue. If you look the writing in the clue is wider than the center statue itself. And the writing doesnt match up on any of the sides. So I think that Union Square is still available.

So, I got to thinking. What if they took a picture of the COG tag there in the light as a hint to the inscription written on the statue? That inscription on the monument was the 5th part constructed after the finishing of the underground parking garage. Has anyone checked underground in the garage? Just a thought.

That wouldn't match what's been done in the other 'hint' photos. ALl the other hint photos have had the COG Tag right where it is in the picture. Doesn't make sense that they would just switch up this one. Besides when Six got the picture from the hider he said "I have a picture of the Union Square cog".

But ya... i spent 2 hours on Tuesday risking carbon monoxide poisoning :) searching for it in the underground garage, that was before the hint photo was released on wednesday afternoon.

I actually thought it might be in the underground just because Gears 2 like half of it is suppose to take place underground or something. So i figured when i couldn't find it above ground monday afternoon, i should start searching underground.

I just got off, I was in constant contact with Citywalk and still zip. I had them check stairs, the upper levels, lights and the fixture, restrooms, benches, and trash cans and absolutely nothing. It's really hard being on one side not being able to see what you guys are seeing, I only know what you guys are telling me and it's hard cause I want to get out and help you grab the dang thing.

That's too bad. I wonder if a random person just picked it up then... i imagine it's quite populated in that area. What you guys need is a picture of the cog. Now that you have thoroughly searched the area, if Six can post a picture of the cog in it's hideyhole , you'll probably know exactly where it is and can go and get it.

Greetings from LA City Walk team.
Well we searched for a good 3-4 hours. Covered the entire perimeter of that large building and the building surrounding it. Both levels. Up and down. All 9,000 planters.
Another group of kids showed up, they gave it an hour before they were over it.
We literally checked every spot in the area at least 3 times over.
There was one spot with two gigantic roman esque pillars that toally reminded me of gears. If there was a good spot for one, that would be it.
Anyways, I am a pretty damn tall guy so I covered any high spots that could have been missed.
My sister is a pro at this kind of stuff and she couldn't find it. Damned proud of her though, she's more of a casual fan, but she really trucked through this like the real deal.
So no planters, lights, balcony, primary building, surrounding buildings, bathroom, back area entrances, etc.

One thing I did notice was that staff keeps the place in pristine condition. No hedge is overgrown and no trash is left on the cement for long. I asked a staff for a lost and found to no avail. I really suspect it was taken by staff, this place is just way too clean.

Anyways, I had a good time looking, got some Famous Pink's Hot Dog's in Hollywood and called it a day when it finally got too dark.

This was the marathon prep tent, except it was open for business, so everything was going on. Mad amounts of people, lots of announcers, they had a juice bar!

This is the exact side of the pillar that would have the dedication on the bottom with the light. I tried talking to the Nike+ girls in front of the pillar to see if there was an entrance into the thing but it's a wrap around the scaffolding, so there's no entrance, they just tear it down afterwards.

So, if the cog is still there, it's not going anywhere.
