Either there are tags in both spots or one of the spots is wrong.

Wow or maybe there'll just be more free swag to give away. I kinda think that tomorrow and Thursday they'll do massive coordinate drops, especially Thursday in the morning. They wouldn't wanna conflict too much with the midnight release of the game, but then again, you never know. Argh, I'm gonna be leaving class periodically just to go back to the surface (my classes are in the basement!!) for signal today and Thursday! So today I am a locust but I'll go back into my hole to get my learning on.

Oh man! Where do I start!?!? haha Ok in the tournament we got to play on 3 maps, Pavillion, Day One, and River. River was by far my favorite. It was a mixture of Canals and Gridlock. Pavillion had it going on too and seemed to me like Mausoleum and Old Bones. Day One was my least favorite, I think because of the hammer that's on that map that can seriously kill everyone. Anyway, that map playsl ike Gridlock and Raven Down and you know how in Raven Down there's a Raven...well, down in the center? In the center of this map, there's something something that can hurt/kill you. Took me by surprise when I first saw it.

Anyway, Wingman consists of five teams of two, though in the tournament there were only four teams of two. The two start off together on the same part of the map and havoc ensues! Anyone can be killed! It plays like Execution though because you can get back up after a while but you can still get shot down and killed from far away, at least that's what I did when I played and killed folks trying to crawl away haha The new Executions are sick but be careful who's around you while you're doing it, you can be killed mid excution.
Uhm...You can't pick your own character. Basically, in the lobby, there'll be sets of colors: blue, red, blue, etc. So whichever your team gets on, you guys have to keep on pressing "Y" to get on the same team, unless this confusion occurred because we were all system linked together, and if you're a COG, you're assigned a cog and you can pick which gun you want to start with, hammerburst or lancer. Same goes for Locusts. Also, both teammates are that character, you cannot pick different characters. I guess the only thing you can do is decide if you wanna be cog or locusts but you guys have to be fast in picking which.

So last night I got to go on my own hunt for a different (http://wikibruce.com/2008/11/of-coverups-and-deaddrops) game/ARG nearby (not for a COG), but in the process, I was treated to some very GOWish surroundings :D I even made a note of the place in case it might be possible to hide/find a COG there, but alas, that would not happen. :P

It's the site of a very old machinery building. Read the plaque - it's like Gears could have taken place right there :D (well, apart from all the war and aliens stuff) hehe
Then out on the hunt (article linked above), there was a nearby water treatment place, I was walking through paths, in grassy rubble-filled places, exploring, keeping an eye out for strnagers and potential enemies, cradling my weap.. no wait, that's actually the game. I only had a flashlight.

Anyway, it was a great experience, and GOW was running through my mind the whole time :D

sorry ive been busy as hell. I spent my entire afternoon getting stuff ready to go camp tonight with mouleman23! its gonna be awesome. So I wont be seeing whats going on here either but Ill keep in touch with Waldo and NataSS. Hope this whole thing gets figured out before friday! Were gonna have a TV and an xbox to play while were chillen on the concrete hahaha. Wish us luck! we dont want the stupid cops telling us to leave!

If that was a party on the west coast, chances are that Epic had nothing to do with it. Epic is based out of Cary, NC, any party they threw would be in Raleigh/Cary or any other surrounding location as the employees wouldn't be able to attend otherwise.

Guys i've figured out where the last 3 tags are that open the last three tabs with no cords, as we know there are major events tonight so heres my theory

1. is in london the address on the gears of war website match where one of the locations are for the london cords curently on the last day site

2. one will be in New York tonight, my guess is there will be a cog there tonight at the best buy on broadway im assuming cords for this will be posted up the last day site as we get closer to new york midnight launch

3. and im sure one will be in at the best buy in bellevue washington where six is to be at tonight.

4. and finally the biggest even of them all would be the Universal Citywalk event im sure there will be a tag there as well.

im sure the cords for the last two on the west coast Wa & Ca will be posted as we near midnight on the west coast.

I will be heading down there to the Bellevue location, I am sure they will be handing out a bunch of stuff, and since the weather is really quite crappy here this evening, my guess is not as many people will show. Sure, there will be alot but if it wasn't raining, there would be more. Plus, its a school night so all the kiddies will be tucked into bed dreaming of Master Chief and not able to come to it.

I <3 the game. Seriously, I feel like I can finally get a decent night's sleep and I feel refreshed and as happy as I was before I found out about the cog tag search. haha I'm still a bit sad that the search is over and I'm cog tagless but it's cool because not only is the game out now, I've met you pretty cool folks and I thought I should let you guys know.

I'll do my best to be consistent on these forums and on my twitter but with the game out, chances are I'll be spending most my time there haha But yeah, I guess I just wanna say thanks to everyone on here for being so kind and awesome and keeping me cheered up when I was down about the cog tags and my tournament lost.

I doubt this would help any, or if it applies to this site, but recently Adobe sent out a message about an update to their Free Flash Player and Shockwave, and after downloading the update, I am having a hard time going to sites that utilize that software stating I don't have it installed when in fact I do. I have re-downloaded the programs from Adobe's website, even contacted them informing them that their recent "update" apparently doesn't update anything, rather, it disables it altogether. It's been a nightmare, and Adobe didn't bother respond to my message alerting them to this. I could be grasping at straws here AOW, but you may want to download the free version of Shockwave and Adobe Flash Player and see if that fixes the problem for you.

Also, something else you may try is simply typing in GEARSOFWAR.COM/LASTDAY without the "www" in your browser. I noticed that by typing in www.gearsofwar.com/lastday resulted in either "page not found" or just a blank white screen with it not loading the page. But, if I cleared our the browser box and just typed in the GEARSOFWAR.COM/LASTDAY, it loaded and worked just fine.

the data is in and out. if you check your cache, you might see the url for the data. most of the time that's showing up as a 404, so the site won't load. My best recommendation is just reload every couple of minutes or so until it works. *shrug*

Guys dunno if this is how i should start this conversation but I have been wondering what all the guys who joined this discussion for the cog tags like hooligunn, waldo, and everyone else feel about GOW2 because after reading alot of the threads it seems to be a big split on what people feel about the game. Im asking this as I see alot of new members joining just to complain and I would like to see the thoughts of the longer serving members.

I think gears2 is superb altough different to the 1st one, There are some small issues imo but nothing that cant be sorted.

I pretty much carry mine around with me when I'm out, my trousers always have an excess of pockets, so I've always got extra space. Didn't think to use it as a tree ornament :p, but when I'm at home, it pretty much stays on my desk or in a draw.


i dont understand the point of this or realy what u are do i now what cog tags are and i now that each gear has a code but that is about all i need to be filled in on what this is for

I dunno if this was said already but maybe the code could have something to do with one of the cog tags you find in the gears 2 collectibles?Last i checked,there's a few letters and numbers on top next the title when you look at the cog tag in your war journal...

It's my best friend John Reek's. He got it in 2008 when the viral campaign was going on, but he just didn't have the resources to share it with everyone. His gamertag at the time was TH3ARCHANG3L87. He was ranked in the top 100 in Execution leaderboards for Gears 1.

We just wanna know... is this the last Cog tag or something? Did you guys know there was another one out there that wasn't reported? Is it worth anything lol?

Well, it's not the last that's for sure. There is a 1000 of them, some were given to important EPIC and Microsoft Employees. The rest were placed around America and a few other countries. People had to search for them via coordnates. Also some were given out in contests. So with all the ones that were lost, EPIC put them in secret locations, many had to be lost and MIA. And I bet a few people got it, and never posted it's IDs or doesn't know what the Hell it's for. I got mine of off eBay a few months ago.

I remember following this thing in 2008, but for some reason or another i fell out of it all. I remember later seeing that one was found right at fenway park in boston... about 20 minutes from me. Kicking myself in the butt for not keeping up. Least i could have given it a shot :P.

Also what are the chances of the "MIA" ones still being out and about. I know its been 2 years, but you never know...

Id also be willing to buy one for alot of money if someone willing to part with one :D

So now all i can do is wait for one to pop up on ebay. Seems like they are still poping up..seeing how you got one a few months ago. Ive been searching everyday for the past few weeks, and i will continue doing so :D.

How much were you able to get yours for on ebay!? (if you dont mind me asking). Im so set on getting one, i want to make sure i have the money set aside just incase the day comes where 1 does pop up.

Its either that, or i have to pray my butt off that they do another viral for Gears 3. Its pretty doubtful..especially with a Gear. But still, no harm in wishing :D
