From what I understand one guy had to buy it off a group of street performers and another was bought from some drug dealer. I really haven't caught all the info on the NY tags because they are so far away from me and I don't personally know anyone who lives there. I'm sure if you go back a few pages you will see. WaldoRtk7 will fill us in when everything is confirmed.

I'm here at work lol im not all of Team NY though. But from the 10 hours i spent last night its a pretty safe bet times square and Washington are gone we sweeped washington pretty hard last night and found nothing we prob spent 3 and half hours and searched every tree in the park and every lightpost. Then we did a block radius around the park checking hydrants and cracks. Times Square might be MIA we spent about 3 hours there and didn't really find anything. Honestly, though there weren't that many places to search since its a pretty open space so we may have missed something obvious??? St. Patts is worth a shot but 7 teams went there yesterday and nothing. Me and Chris's teams combine prob spent 7 hours in that location inside and around the church.

UPDATE ON THE TIME SQUARE TAG:well my mom works at time square and she was going to have some co-workers help her look for the tag for me and she had printed a pic of a cog tag to show them what it looks like and one of her co-workers said he had found it there yesterday but he throw it in the garbage not knowing what is.

i think the time square tag is MIA for good but feel free to keep checking just in case but i thinks is true that he throw it away because u cant really mistake how a cog tag looks with anything else

Wow you know guys we might be getting to the end of hidden cogs. A lot of major cities have had them placed and it's almost to 700 now. With only 1000 cogs out there and the retail program this weekend we might be SOL :confused:

I'm not sure about the rest of Team London, but I can't confirm on either location whether it's definitely been found or not. I only managed to search the Commercial st. location.

But it does seem like Team London has whittled down a bit. A lot of them who were here from near the start of the campaign seem to have disappeared....

I had no idea how much work it would be to make that pumpkin. Now I just have to figure out how to preserve it for next year, cause I really don't want to do that again!:D

yea, just got back from philly hunting. splatta has the art museum one right?
i showed my friend the map of the drexel one and he said forget aobut it, that is the main intersection drexel students travel. it's probably long gone.

we checked rittenhouse square thoroughly. that one was gone too.

the one near 3rd-4th & chestnut st was the fun one. the area the map pointed to was sealed off for the night i guess. my friends and i "got in" and searched all over. that one was gone too.

the problem with the NY cog tags was to post them in manhattan was pretty insane lol yes thats where the heart of NY lies but posting them anywhere else in NY including different boroughs or upstate by albany would have surely left all of these cogs tags in the hands of people from this site or atleast interested in GOW. It's just simply that in manhattan there are millions of people walking around a day literally in such a smaller area at all points of the day. People are bound to see it walking past somehow or another.

The other problem is that quite honestly, there are a lot of people in manhattan sick in the head lol. Whenever me and my friends visit manhattan, it is pretty dumpy and everyone there is in it to make a quick buck. I'm not hating on manhattan just saying it doesn't suprise me that it turned out that all of them were being sold, just the way it goes i guess.

After a lot of thought (and temptation lmao) I have agree with you. These ebay cogs are pretty much the embodiment of what SHOULD NOT be happening with these cogs. These cogs were made to promote a game that we all are interested in and it should be staying that way. It should not be "o look i found 500 dollar piece of metal on the floor w00t ebay", it should be " o $#$ i get a new freakin bad ass marcus fenix wallpaper when I get home!" It's ashame this is happening but honestly the hunt was hellah fun anyway. Me and my friend can't wait for something else like this to happen because if it does were out and gone in a second lol. Doesn't matter if you get the cog, its the fellow soldiers you meet on the way =p

Yeah, I know what you mean. I felt the same way when everything was going on in bay area lol. All the guys from there seem pretty cool and it would of been awesome hunting with them. I swear though I found THE perfect spot to hide a cog in washington square park. When I found it, I looked at my friend and was like it HAD to be here lol a freakin almost entirely hollow tree that you can't tell is hollow until you walk off the beaten path and check around it? and the tree itself even looked gears of warish. Like i said though the experiences where everything.

Gas used to search for the cog- $30, Buying a cog on ebay - $400 dollars, seeing the expression of your friends face when a squirrel jumps at his face in union square- Priceless :D

He's right. Tighten your search closely to the coordinates, if anything its most likely hidden there. It may seem like its not but after searching 4 locations for 10 hours last night take it from me search near the coords hard lol check every lamp post, tree, planter and keep track. I tried to take on one type of object at a time like checking all the trees first then so on

Maybe using google earth is the key. That's the way some, if not most, of these cogs have been found.

Perhaps there is no bigger key than using your "keen eye," as instructed. Considering it was found in a fountain--I can only think back to the times I was hiding behind the walls, in a fountain, next to an emergence hole playing the original Gears game. It's the determination and sometimes solving the puzzle that is the proper counterpart to coordinates.

Either way, I'm glad it's in the hands of a fan and off of eBay. Awesome sport in helping him out, Enforcer, just as you have been a tremendous help to me in my own retail searches. You're ace.

You can look if you want but me and my friend spent 3 and half hours there on thursday night and didn't find squat. We even made sequential instructions on how we would look like check all the trees and then the bush's and so one. It looks like the cog is going to be right infront of that starbucks on the corner but we checked all the planters right infront of there. The problem here is that they may still be 2 left either St. Patties, Washington or Times Square. One of these 3 is being sold on ebay at the moment and we have no idea which one it is =/

Did you check near Washington Square Village? It's about a block away from the park and I have a feeling it's there. The coordinates I received for that area said at Washington Square Village. So I'm assuming that it's the Washington Square Park COG tag.

If you look on google maps the area that says Washington Square Village we checked up to that tree right next to the words "West 3rd" at that area there is a statue that looks very gears of warish, it has heads on each of its ends. We looks around the statue and up to that tree and didn't find a thing. It's worth a shot if you go though. The cog is unreported still so I would try. Honestly, if didn't have stuff to do id be there again today even though i spent like 4 hours there already lol

Dude, you lied when you hadn't found it. I'm wasn't going to doubt you after you had, but it's the fact you lied to try and scare people off from finding that tag. I don't get why you're trying to make out like you didn't lie at all. It's sad to say but NYC is practically the breeding ground for greed and wealth lol. Don't get me wrong its nice to go into manhattan from where I live in queens sometimes and go to clubs, go out to eat and go to shows and stuff but areas of NYC are realllll dumpy. I mean from even searching at the union square site and the washington square site there were drug dealers EVERYWHERE. You could smell the weed from like 2 blocks away.

Hey guys, I just got back from biking all over Philly. And boy was that tiring. I'm writing up something now about my night last night in Rittenhouse, pics to come!

Alright so last night I had to go back to NJ for a my girlfriends brother's halloween party (I was pacman btw). Didn't think in a million years that would be the night for Six to drop a ****ton of coords on philly. Boy was I pissed. My gf was getting annoyed because I was pacing back and forth trying to think of what I should do. So I called up Docta Splatta and told him there were four coords in philly right now.

He left and I talked to him thru some of it, but then I had to go to the party so I PMed AOW Waterborn to see if he could call Docta Splatta up and guide him. So then he found the one behind the Rocky statue under rocks.

So I went to the party, and my gf (being as awesome as she is) genuinely offered to drop me off at the train station. Which just so happen to be right around the block from her brothers place. So I got on the the train at 1:30am and met the most awesome train conductor ever, accompanied with his sidekick cop. They were talking about how they love the train at halloween because of all the half nekid girls. And how they're whoring it out and sometimes they take a whole car and get it on in there lol.

Anyway, I got back, gave Docta Splatta a call to help me search. But he was out drinking somewhere. So I went to Rittenhouse and sat. I saw two other people there just kinda looking over things, combing the park with just their eyes. Not really going through the bushes or anything. I think they were afraid to draw attention lol. I waited til they left, because I knew they wouldn't find anything like that.

I got up off the bench and started jumping over everything trying to figure where the good spots are. I checked under bushes, dug things up, everything. Eventually I posted on here that I needed help and Enforcer came to the rescue.

Before I go any further, I don't know who said it wasn't cold out, but I was cold. I have a very small tolerance for cold. My phone was dying, and I'm thinking that I can only talk on the phone for a short amount of time.

Enforcer guided me to some great places, but he had a gut feeling about the fountain. So we checked there again. I had already gone over it a few dozen times, but hey, one more wouldn't hurt. So I climb in, and for some reason I stick my hand in the mouth of the face where the water spurts out. And I flipped! Sure enough it was there. I had trouble getting it out and scraped up my hand pretty good. There was some sort of metal sheet in there, it was pretty sharp.

I say thank you profusely to him, and get off the phone because its about to die. I walk two blocks to my gf's apt to go and crash there, and not two steps away from the door my phone completely dies.

Total time spent searching - 1hr 30min.

So today, I'm thinking about the location of that one. And I guess it's because I've lived here for three years and I'm numb to the street names. BUT there is a street that lines up perfectly with where the cog tag was found. The name of that street is Locust St.

We went to each location twice, once with flashlights and once without, i guessing the cogs don't reflect well since we we did everything short of putting our hands in the mouth of the fountain.

Anyway I went back to 4th and walnut by myself today since i stood guard while Nismojoe and another friend searched that area (it's gated between 5pm and 7am). I was the guy in the green puma hoodie that was looking around. I'm also one of AoW Waterborns clan mates. I looked right in that fountain guys mouth at 2:15am and didn't see anything. It's pretty dumb cause I was using a flashlight all around the fountain and for some reason I turned it off while I was in the fountain. I even said to the guy with me, "I don't think its here anymore cause if I was Epic I would have stuck it in that lions mouth."

Thanx for the update. This thing is starting to drive me nuts. I mean, there are tags still MIA, and there are others found but the CSID codes haven't been entered, and others found but their CSID codes are unknown.

And on top of that, I'm starting to think that the rest of the tags will be scattered through the US, and nowhere else. Hope is starting to run thin...

But it does seem like Team London has whittled down a bit. A lot of them who were here from near the start of the campaign seem to have disappeared....

Alright guys i'm kind of beat right now, after trying to figure out where these other two tags in philly are i'm a little out of it and hallucinating thinking i'm seeing things on maps that may be different thing, but yeah think im gonna go play some gears, or get some sleep (been up since 5ampst) trying to help IamTimO find the other two and keep them out of the hands of "ebay Locust" hahaha. so for those who need an update as it stands right now i think

actually the state of the NY cog tags is that St. Pats was never reported and washington square park was never reported. Time square someone said was thrown out but it cant be confirmed so unreported. Union Square was gotten my ChrisA9 and Central Park was found by Taxi.

Andd at the moment there is a cog on ebay that says it's one of the 5 dropped in NYC and that it was in a cobblestone hiding spot. I messaged the person to ask if he had used the CSID # and which spot he had found it in. He only replied saying that he had entered the CSID #. So that one on ebay is either St. Pats, Washington Square or Times Square.

No way to tell which one it is =/. It's quite possible that 2 are still out there unfound in NYC but after this much time elapsed id be pretty surprised if someone hasn't found it. (still thinking of taking another trip into the city to do a final check up on things though). Taxi has one and definitely union square is gone because Chris showed me the cog in person so he definitely bought the one from union square =p

When I arrived at the location, things weren't looking good - I could see crowds of people, the market was on, it wasn't so bright and it was just cluttered with rubbish.

I searched around for a bit, torch in hand, not sure if I looked odd or not, but nobody stopped to ask what I was doing. I asked a few of the people running market stalls, a few of them knew what Gears was, and that 2 was coming out soon, but they had no idea about the campaign, and they hadn't seen any cog tags being placed or anything.

I decided at this point to have a look in the art exhibition that was going on, my eyes lit up when i saw this (http://i36.tinypic.com/mkitjq.jpg). The picture isn't very clear, but if you squint a little, you can see a small cog tag looking thing, near the dog. It turns out it wasn't, but it was a metallic turd, left by the dog...

Giving up on that, I called my friend, and she told me that there were two coordinates (which I'm guessing she found out from reading what DarkestJamesG said), one out at the front of the building, and one out at the back.

So I went to the back (http://i34.tinypic.com/2vvj9rt.jpg) first. Couldn't find anything there either, and there were masses of people there. Anyone of them could have taken it if it was around there.

I walked round to the front, my eyes couldn't see much around there that looked like a cog tag, but then I was in a rush. Still, I'm guessing it meant nothing, I wasn't able to find anything, but I hope someone on this forum is able to (or someone who will join this forum).

It was updated in twitter, but it didn't get reflected on the Last Day site...
So unless they decide to re-place a cog at those coords, they're invalid now :(

Myself also never sleeping allows me to do the same but I don't dive too much into game play related threads debating what should or shouldn't be in the game so I am mostly trying to be involved in the last day threads. Probably the best thing to do. Seemed there were a few goof-ups on the coordinates posted last week. My friends in Toronto went through the same ordeal where they searched the original location for hours only to see in the next day or so that Six had posted some updated ones.

Its got to the stage now where people have decided not to travel as far as they were when this thing first started because cogs seem to be MIA as soon as the co-ordinates are posted. There isn't really any good solid information about when cogs are still in place but not found or if they have been found and kept quiet. I live around two hours away from London and with work and committments I dont see the logic in travelling with only a little information to find when I arrive someone not associated with the site has stumbled across it hours before I even set off. The reno cog was a good example no one was going to stumble across it only someone from the forums was going to find it. This gives people to opportunity to travel as they can be 99% sure the cog is there and if it is found the forums would know straight away. This viral campaign is petering out because tags are mainly becoming MIA. I have really enjoyed following it but my chances of a cog or even a search for one a super slim at best, I believe most of team England feel the same so they have decided to do something else with their time.

well i went out of london on a 40 min train ride and walked 40 mins also in reading to find a cog where the coord where available for 3/4 days and i found it. Ill b posting my full story and pics later today just need to do my laundry washing lol life of a student

James I happy you found one but most people have too much to do to just go out on a limb all day to look for something someone has already found. Team england must have just got bored waiting everyday for something no one expects to be there anyway. Maybe if england had recieved more cogs to hunt not just London people could have got involved but we only had two lots of cog drops since this campaign started.

in total i think the uk had to date about 6 in total and one of those has been MIA for weeks but america has the same problem u cant keep every1 happy u shud move to london :P i actually gave up on its for a week as i was sick of spending everyday waiting but then i just got lucky but i have to spend £30 on a train ticket and search for it in the dark green area i really gave up i looked in the sky and i saw my shiny cog tag hangin on a branch:P i ripped that branch off i was so happy now its locked in my safe

Yeah keepin everyone happy in here is gonna be hard but i think it has been said before if the people hiding the cogs had put them where only the gamers would be able to find them it would have been better and everyone would be up for travelling to hunt. I sure would be but right now I wouldn't go as far as when this all started because they keep gettin found by lucky tourists or people walking their dogs.

haha I've been waking up from dreams like this since I first heard about the cog tag search...which have been about 3-4 weeks now. Ugh. Every night or every other night I wake up but usually I fall asleep. Today though, I just couldn't go back to sleep! I think because the game comes out in FOUR DAYS! I just can't friggin wait and plus Six updated his twitter earlier than usual so I have to stay on my toes. I'm so tired argh.

Good luck with the testing. I could have picked up a copy for you at the midnight launch if you wanted, but it sounds like you are going to be busy. Even though I am getting the game through a friend at MS, I want to check the festivities at the launch since I was there for Halo 3, and the system launch three years ago, which was a lot of fun (but quite cold that night).
