I remember when he claimed that he was given a script for a Metal Gear Solid movie and Hideo Kojima even clarifying on his online (and still-running) radio show that he would never make a movie with Uwe Boll. (I found that quite funny.)

Cliff's the executive producer, and it looks like they're gathering a good crew, so I'm certainly going to see it when it comes out.

Well. I think I'd prefer a CGI film but if it's with real actors it doesn't have to be bad. I liked the old Mortal Kombat movie. Yeah it was cheesy and it had a low budget. But this will have the guys behind Gears helping out and a large budget hopefully.

Yes you are a genius. This is someone that is using their head. Mixing live action with CGI touch up or from the Studios that did Beowulf. That would get the job done perfect. This movie would be hard to do full live action. The screenplay and everything has to be perfect cause the games have set the bar so high we have a chance of being very disappointed.

I am also worried about staking the legacy of GOW on actors alone. We all know what happened with DOOM.

Best believe this is coming. You don't think people have seen our response to this game. How many millions of copies sold on launch? People with money in hollywood aren't stupid enough to let this go by. If someone didn't have a script they were writing after GOW, believe it is being written now.

:DThe movie is being made by New Line Cinema and Legendary Pictures(the guys who made 300), Len Wisemen(The dude who made Underworld) is the Director and Chris Morgan(he wrote the script for The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift and Wanted) is writing the script for the movie, and yes Cliff is Executive Producing the movie. I cannot believe that you just said that. After all, look at the high caliber of acting material the WWE has to offer..Theres something about grown men shaving off their body hair, covering themselves in baby oil (yes, they do actually do that - apparently its to make them look more muscled), and wearing skin-tight lycra outfits to roll around on the floor with each other that just unsettles me slightly..Each to their own I suppose.

I think the film should focus on different main characters instead of Marcus, Dom and co. By using other main characters, they wont murder the ones we already love! Although it would be nice to see more into each characters past.

Well honestly you work with what roles are given to you, and sometimes what pays the bills. Honestly I don't see anyone else playing Cole as Terry Tate is Cole, voice and body. I would be very surprised if they pick anyone else to play.

As far as Marcus goes, Dimaggio looks nothing like him, so he's out. I could see Travolta playing Marcus, but if it was my choice I would go with Purcell. He can pull off the voice and demeanor, and he somewhat lesser known than Travolta.

If I chose, it would be:

Marcus - Dominic Purcell
Dom - Jay Hernandez (but they would have to age and harden him a bit)
Cole - Terry Tate (aka Lester "Mighty Rasta" Spreight)
Baird - Ryan Reynold (they would have to lighten his hair a tad)
Hoffman - R Lee Ermey (Hello...Full Metal Jacket...that guy is hard core)
Anya - Scarlet Johanssen (besides the fact that she bares a striking resemblance to Lt. Stroud, she has the acting chops to pull off the short amount of time Stroud is actually in the movies to allow moviegoers to care about her survival)

Carmine Brothers - sorry to say it folks, but the fact that you never get to see any of their faces up to this point (GoW 1 & 2), it doesn't really matter who plays the role, cause if they go by the book so to speak, you won't get to see his face in the movie either. Whenever some companys make movies form games. FF Spirits within sucked in my opinion. Resident Evil it was ok not great not bad but ok. If they made a GoW movie they should stick the the story line form the first game but we all know thats not gonna happen because they want to do something new with it. Whenever some companys make movies form games. FF Spirits within sucked in my opinion. Resident Evil it was ok not great not bad but ok. If they made a GoW movie they should stick the the story line form the first game but we all know thats not gonna happen because they want to do something new with it. We all know something new with it basically it wont be very great the effects might but the story line no. Those are my 2 cents in the whole thing.

Gears is dumb for doing this. Its gonna ruin the series watch..

The only game I see pulling off a movie is Halo. I think Halo will become the next Star Wars.. And Halo pushed there movie back for 2012? I guess there really putting lots of work in there movie unlike Gears rushing things all the time to make bank.

the only problem with casting big name stars in a movie is egos.if you have more than one"big" name they would want it made to make them look good.a couple of tallented b movie actors or some up and coming would be best.also a good director peter jackson for one wold make it great,look wat he did for a long boring novel.

CGI for this film is better. The characters we are familiar with will look and sound still the same(or perhaps even more badass) and the director will have more flexibility and can be more creative than with real actors. It'd probably end up like Doom or Resident Evil if the movie wasn't made in CGI. Resident Evil: Degeneration was a better film than the other "normal" movies.

I'm just glad Uwe Boll isn't there to f*ck it up like the rest of his creations.

the film may be ruined i really hope it wouldnt because the game is soo good but games and movies are very different things lol maybe instead of non-stop action they could focus on the story more in the film do things with it that they couldnt do in the game. I dunno wat layout they should use though it would have to be one long a*s movie or a 2 parts to it i think a trilogy would be dragging it on. The first movie could be about the pendulum wars and introducing the characters all the way up untill E-day. yeah that script was on latinoreview.com it did sound class but unfortunatley that script was scrapped as the guy dropped out, thats why they got josh ortuega (or however you spell his surname) on board.

well, i really want to see this movie go good. it's sad to see when a movie by a book, game, historical facts or something goes bad.. like for example "the doom" movie was rather week but it was watchable, i'd like gears to be better than that.. now for the cast.. it's really unimportant who acts, just as long as it doesn't look ridiculous, cuz the main point is the outcome, not the names on the poster or the budget of the film.

The rock is not marcus and will never be. The rock is the rock. He does not even look like marcus. He is a good actor, but could not and should not be in the gears movie.
