Just bought GoW.
Checked some of the problem posts and didn't see one like mine. The game loaded up fine, I get into the single player mode and the opening video works great but as soon as the gear is supposed to follow the other guy the environment spins around and the audio has a spinning sound in it too. This is very strange. At 1st i thought this was part of the game then quickly realized something was wrong. I have newest Windows Live upgrade. Machine Specs:
Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0,
BIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5200+ (2 CPUs), ~2.6GHz
Memory: 2046MB RAM
Windows Dir: C:\Windows
DirectX Version: DirectX 10
DX Setup Parameters: Not found
DxDiag Version: 6.00.6001.18000 32bit Unicode
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS
Manufacturer: NVIDIA
PLEASE HELP>>>>>>>

I am having the same problem on an Intel board and chipset and a Radeon video card. One person suggested it may be a guitar hero or another controller buggering things up but it did not work for me.
I use mouse joystick to move and it seems to work ok in the settings to set the keybindings but the sliders move to the left and he is spinny. and the "patch" did not fix it
