The DVD-ROM cannot be located?

Wow so i finally got the game running smoothly thank to paulps guide.

And now when i try and start the game up i get....

"Please insert the correct DVD-ROM, click OK, and restart the application."

Gears of War is in my dvd tray.

What...the...****?

i hope this is on topic since this is my first post but could we also have a list of common virtual drives that cause these to appear? the gears of war pc help and solutions thread by gears helper stated that some virtual driver incompatabilities cause this error and knowing which ones would be a step in the right direction.


btw could we please have some admin or mod activity on the gow pc section? most of times players are getting help from other players and theres a whole different section of the forums meant for that.

My problem too, a few days ago i played and everything went smooth, suddenly it says that cd/dvd error!!
