Main question: What should be the down time for Execution?

Right now I'm playing Warzone more than Execution because the lancer can kill people more effectively, and the shotgun is much more balanced. If I could play 20/30 second execution all the time I would, because it mimics competitive play standards, but rarely does anyone host something besides 5/10 seconds. In GoW2, we can all agree that there will be much more ranged fighting. So what do you want the down time to be? I want the chance of getting myself up, but I don't want a get-out-of-jail-free card every time I am downed.

If I am not mistaken, tapping A doesn't get you up faster, so 30 seconds means 30 sec, not 18.

5 to 10 seconds is the only reason I play Execution. Anymore than that and I'd rather go play Warzone, because it's nearly impossible to get up without getting killed.

Gears 2 is focusing on ranged combat, but you have to remember that "ranged" in Gears is still extremely close. This isn't Call of Duty 4 where you'll be sniping with an assault rifle across the map. Even with the lancer, it's all about getting within 10 feet of your enemy and downing them. I'd go with 10 seconds for Gears 2.

15 sec so its possible to kill a target that is not downed right next to you

10 or 15, I hate it when people get up really fast and then kill you.

5 seconds. That's the ONLY reason I play Execution. Maybe 10.. maybe.. but still.. that's a lot of time for someone to get a easy kill.

I think it should be like halo, where there can be different sub-catagories in the game with different bleedout times and different weapon placement

same here. 5 sec ONLY! you must be fast to kill the downed and you have a chance to get up fast and escape... i hate to play warzone, once you down the only chance you have is that someone help you (or you die)

30 secs, because then you have a chnce of crawling away instead of dieing within 5 secs, then the crawling would be of no use

10 secs seems good

10 seconds is the sweet spot, IMO. Not too short, so you have to rely on your teammates to prevent whoever downed you to execute you, but not too long that you have to wait forever to get back up.

Im confused...

what is it CURRENTLY set at for Execution and Warzone in MM ?

I prefer 5, but since you can crawl away/call for help/suicide frag , Ill say 10 seconds is good.

I say 10, not to long and not to short.

I think 30. You need an execution to kill a downed enemy, but when you're downed, you can't get up fast, so you need your teammates to revive you.

If you're serious then I'm convinced that Epic made certain decisions pertaining to MM while on LSD. THE WHOLE POINT of execution is that you're able to get up on your own instead of being helpless and requiring a teammate to pick you up.

You could try to argue that execution is still different from warzone because you have to get up close, but if the bleedout time is 30 seconds then it makes no difference since you could go have a smoke, eat a sandwich, do your taxes, then proceed to run up to your opponent and finish them off before they are able to stand up.

Keep in mind Gears of War is also a game with few players. With only 5 v 5, the numbers will quickly drop down to 2 v 2 or even 1 v 1, in which case a teammate reviving you is all the more unrealistic and limping around the stage would soon become frustrating after being the last player left in a few rounds.

10 secs, enough Time for your team to see you, and get to your spot, hopefully you will get killed by uber-execution, so thats 3 secs, of weakness for your enemy to get some lead up his gut.
