Well, i'm Ipwn [so they call me] i've been in about 2 different clans since i joined the UT3 community...Team SMP [PSN:SMP_ipwn]...Team BiOFREAK [PSN:HAWT_BiOFREAK]...and now i'm in Team DK. Ok so Latley i've been getting called supposivley the best female duelist in all of UT3 [PS3 community] & honestly i'd rather earn that title rather than being called something i'm not at the moment yah know? so i'm here posting on the UT3 forum to basically challenge all of the females to a duel! LETS DO IT!

RULES:
-My Host atleast once & my opponesnt's [to be fair]
-NO mutators [i am a pure server player]
-NO super pick-ups! [The Unspoken Duel Rule]

you misinterpreted that my friend. what i'm basically saying is that i don't want to have an unfair match... for example... a "girl" challenges me to a duel and it turns out to be a guy... BUT on the mic it's prolly their gf/sister. that's why i need a backround check before i accept a duel. true, plus the feel is way different on the ps3 than PC, on PC the controls are more responsive, on ps3 it seems t get acceleration to speed up, and it swings when you let off, it makes it hard to judge alot, im not bad on PC but i couldnt play worth crap when i tried it on the ps3 again, but i like them botth so i still try it

Hi SKUNDERbau. I'm ranking about 400-something on the Pure Server stats. Does that mean I am better than Cr4zyB4st4rd? No, it doesn't. I'm not even close. I play on both custom and pure servers consistently, and only on the weekends, so my rankings are terrible on both status pages. Plus, my regular login became corrupted, so I had to start all over again. I don't have nearly as much kills, core damage, or flag captures as you, but I have played with you before, and believe me, I'm quite aware of the skill difference between us.

LOL, it's not really that much more expensive. And consider with that extra cost, you're also getting a multi-purpose device with any number of other uses in addition to gaming, it's really a good deal. And PC games are cheaper per unit than console games.

LOL, it's not really that much more expensive. And consider with that extra cost, you're also getting a multi-purpose device with any number of other uses in addition to gaming, it's really a good deal. And PC games are cheaper per unit than console games.

Most people have a perfectly functioning PC for basic computer amenities (Web Browsing, Word Processing, etc) so that doesn't really justify the price. For the average person the only reason to get a gaming quality PC would be to game. So it kinda comes down to 1000+ dollars for a good gaming PC (that'll remain "good" for at least 3-4 more years) or $399 for a PS3/360 that'll remain a viable console for at least 3-4 more years.

If it wasn't for spore being released in a few weeks and that I needed to replace my old laptop, I know I wouldn't have a gaming PC. It's just not right for everyone.

Assuming you plan to purchase individual components and build the PC yourself and even then a $500 can't be expected to run UT3 with impressive FPS and it wont be able to run the newest games in two or so years quite well. For a pre-built PC there's no way you'll get good gaming value for anywhere near $500.

I think you'll find that PC hardware is made of sterner stuff than that, it's not often that it just "breaks." I guess xboxes fail a lot, but that's because it's a bunch of hot-running components stuffed into a flimsy little plastic box. PCs aren't quite like that.

But if you did run into trouble that you couldn't solve on your own, you could just bring it in to a computer repair shop (you don't have to ship it off to some single centralized place). Most big stores like Best Buy and Circuit City have a department that offers such services.

The point was that you wouldn't need another device to web browse, word process, manage media, burn DVDs etc. etc. and game, for the money you are getting all those things in one. Maybe you already have something that does those things, maybe not, it's beside the point.

And keep in mind that you don't have to just replace everything when it's time to upgrade, sometimes it's just a piece or two. Sure, it'll cost more than a console when you first get into it, but once you've got a base to work with, it's not it's going to cost you a grand, or however much you want to say it is, every 3-4 years.

Personally, I don't feel the gaming experience on a console is really worth $399 to me, I think I would give up gaming altogether if PC were no longer an option.

Quite comparing the top video cards to buying a console, that's completely out of line. A 500 dollar gaming computer will destroy UT3 and be fine for games for the next 3ish years. Your also forgetting about how consoles have higher priced games which evens the money field.

There more to take into consideration than price when you talk about PC gaming though. You still need to consider Which CPU (Quad or DUal then which clock speed, bus, etc), GPU (ATI or NVIDIA then which generation then the model), RAM, Operating system, Case, Monitor (Size, Type, Resolution, Refresh Rate, etc), keyboard, mouse, hard drive (capacity, RPM), and then some and even after that you still need to worry about drivers, updates, compatibility, tweaking, etc.

With a console the most difficult choice you have to make is PS3 or 360 then which model. The systems update themselves, games are optimized as well as they can be for the hardware and certain things like voice chat and universal friends lists are better on consoles.

And when it comes to the actual games PCs really only excel in Shooters and RTS games (I'm considering stuff like Rolloer Coaster Tycoon, Sim City, Spore, and The Sims under RTS too). Consoles perform just as well (if not better) as PCs in almost every other genre of games.

For someone not geared to the technical aspects the console is a far better choice for gaming. I personally prefer consoles, I hate having to type to communicate when I could just talk (I know about Team Speak but it's not something almost everyone uses like mics on consoles) and I'm not very good at keeping up with the latest drivers and etc.

In the end PC gaming suits some, console gaming just tends to appeal to far more.
