UPDATED! Links have been fixed.
Here's MP Station. It's a symmetrical, large-ish map based on the pump station level in the campaign (where you first fight therons). This is my fourth map release.

LANCE version (thanks Kantham and BurnedInfernal!)

NOTE: The Lance version requires that Kantham's LANCE gametype be installed. You can do so by visiting this site: http://www.moddb.com/mods/lance and downloading and installing any one of Kantham's maps.

Apologies for all of the waiting, I'm working to fix the links for the Emergence Map Pack (I'm updating the maps a tad too so it's taking a while) and I will continue doing Lance versions of my maps. I'm also working on two new maps. One, MP Sacred, is VERY close to being finished (just need to wrap up the lance version of it), while the other, MP Power Lines, is still at about 70%.
I submitted these files to Filefront, but I'm unsure whether once they're accepted the links to the downloads will change or not. If these links stop working because of this, PLEASE inform me via PM or post in this thread.

i was thinking about making a map based on this same thing! you read my mind. lol
Anyways it looks good, the only thing i think is that the lighting needs to be a little more atmospheric. It just looks a little too grey. other than that ill be downloading in a minute. :)

Looks really nice, but I'll have to agree with NewPCGamer. I would add some color to the light.
Downloading. Put it in the .rar or .zip format. It will drastically reduce the size of the file (about 10 times).

It is in .zip format.
I played around with the coloration of the map, and this bluish-gray ended up being the best one, but I guess I could've put in more conflicting lights to add a nice contrast in certain areas, specifically inside of the station itself.

How long did it take u to create this map?
Taffer

Not too long, actually.
I messed around quite a bit (I never have a layout from the getgo that I stick with, I find it's funner to play around in the editor and see what's good) for a good two or three weeks, but just this last week I sat down and crammed and crammed to get it finished. What I generally like to do is play a TV show or the Bungie Podcast (Epic HAS to do these) in the background while I map, sometimes for hours at a time.
I don't know how much time people generally spend on a single map, though.

A professional quality level with one person working on it can be completed within 2-3 months depending on experience and hours put into it.

Ill poke around in the editor for a while untill i come across a cool idea and then ill actually start mapping it out.

I was unaware that professional levels could still be made by a single person.

I usually pick a singleplayer chapter or even sometimes a concept art/photo for inspiration and begin mapping, but the idea almost always changes as I progress. This map was originally gonna be where the team that spawned on the elevator would get two snipers and the other team would spawn on the station and would receive torque bows, but I simply found that it worked better to make it symmetrical and have both teams fight on the station itself. Still, that's a pretty minor change compared to what some of my other maps undergo...

One person can definitely create a professional level if they have all of the assets needed to do so.

Well, to clarify, I know that a single person can create a professional level, but I did not know that it was still a practice at certain game studios to only have a single person work on a level.
Point still taken, though.

Hey Taffer,
The Map you posted has some lighting issues and alot of unlit areas, also the lance version does not work due to no spawns not being setup and there is no allocation, also actually there is no Station assets within your lance version.
My first time playing through Station it has really nice concept and theme, i offer my help if you need.
cheers

I checked the build right before I zipped up the files to upload and everything was lit as I planned (unless something got seriously ****ed with it somehow). Have you installed LANCE as well? Because the lance version requires the lance files placed in the correct place (I should probably include this info in the first post). Spawns/pathnodes were setup and everything worked fine in both versions when I tested the final builds. Seriously, what is up?
Edit: Worked fine for Darksin, so I assume that the only problem was not having the lance gamefiles. I fixed the first post to contain information pertaining to this. Just go to the lance website and install any one of Kantham's maps.

5 star, man, 5 star, just played it, it's perfect in gameplay.
i use the original lance 2 spawn upk so no problem at all, plays great, this map is the brother of
official vendatta , converted to lance by vilsmik, the level design is really similar,
but it's much bigger and i prefer this most, optimized great and very fun to hunt down those bots,
it's sniper time buddy~
the only little problem is the lighitng, the outside is bright enough,
but the center platform area is dark, so i hope you could add more light there,
also it seems too bloom ,can't see things very clear, hope you can make less blur effect ,thx!!
anyway, this is a great map for lance 2, glad another nice bot map was born,
we'll have a lot more fun with gears.
thx taffer, u did a great work!! i love all your maps...
hope your other maps coming soon, cheers for the fantastic emergence map pack :)

Nice map. Thanx for the Lance 2 version.
Nice big map. Slower pace is nice.
The bots like to dive off of the bridges in the center ALOT!! I LoL'd! :D
Not fond of the foggy flickering lighting, but overall a great effort. Keep it up.

The lighting was intentional. I meant to create a sort of contrast where the center was dark, and slowly as you moved away it would get brigher (which is why the center platform is dark, the surrounding platforms are inbetween and the outside is bright). I also thought the center area looked kind of neat the way it is, where enemies are distinguished by the bright glow of their weapons. But I see that people don't seem very fond of it and I'll take notice to brighten up sections of my other maps as I release them.
And I'm CRAAAAZY about postprocess/bloom, but not everyone shares my, um, obsession with it, so I'll make sure to tone that down in future maps as well.

Haha, yeah, they get pretty suicidal in there. I remember one test playthrough I just stayed inside and counted how many I could get to dive over the edge.
"Foggy flickering lighting" sounds like the bloom/postprocess. Again, I'll work to make the visuals a bit clearer in future releases.
This works really well with Lance Taffer. Good job. This map has an excellent layout. :D
Thanks :)

Hey Taffer,
Just got my CPU back today all in working order :P Yeh scratch what i said before i was using my old backup computer which is a pos.
Really nice work on your design and layout, i can see where you had originally drew inspiration from but you have gave it your own original twist, theres also some really great gameplay to be had on your map so congrats to your layout.
the lighting issue is not a big problem as its only the player thats mostly affected by it which is a simple fix, some areas need touching up but still as it is, its a really nice map.
Thumbs Up Taffer, well done
