Maulers armor like COG armor?

The chest peice of the Mauler boomer looks like the COG chest peice, do you think the locust is using COG armor and changing it for use for them?

I don't know about that because the COG armor is way to small for a boomer. Unless they put a whole bunch together.

Well, both sides don't seem to care which weapons they use, so a mauler sticking a flattened cog chest piece on himself seems plausible.

The Locust apparently scavenge a lot of human technology, weaponry and armor so I'm not at all surprised about this.

Baird to Cole "these guys are almost as big as you Cole" and Cole replies "yeah, almost". The boomer armour could be COG armour that has been expanded using metal sheets between the joints. Boomers aren't gigantic in comparison to the COG but about 4 ft higher and has a wider waist, the armour wouldn't need to be drastically different but have a larger circumference made possible by simple modifications to it..

I'm talking about they may take the original COG armour as a template then continuously modify it until it fits.

well, they probably 90% put about 2-3 together, and wore them, but i think they could be saving some for the drones or something. well, the ones they actuly care about.

There seems a distinct difference between armour used by both races.Are you saying the locust are to dumb to make there own????All this talk about scavaging,the locust are well organised and well equipt,it is very believeable that they could create there own armour and weapons.You notice the general make up of locust armour is some kind of animal leather were as gear armour is metal plating with some kind of power source(for what reason i dont know yet,any ideas?????).True they use each others weapons but then so do current nations eg;the us will use ak47 when required.

well, some of the locusts armor is from leather, but there still can be armor underneath it. and we're not talking about theron guards or general raam wearing plated cog armor, its about boomers, they do look like they wear cog armor, but just in a different formation, color, and rearangement.

Im also not aying that locust are dumb, but the drones/sniper appearence doesn't use alot of armor. all they usaly wear is pants, and sometimes tops. But i realy dont think that the locusts are gonna make realy prepared armor of the drones, all they do is go out and fight and get killed, thats why the higher level locust would use more efficiant armor, because there is not as many of them as there are drones.

It being based on cog armour is understandable,but why would they use cog armour on a boomer but not on anyrthing else??????
GOW2 boomers have totally original armour.

Normal drones have skin thick enough that it partially protects them from ballistics.
