I have two bugs that I hope some of you can help me with. First off is that when I test a game in the editor, something similar to this happens:
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z241/Inumo/ScreenShot00000.jpg
I've tried re-installing the graphics driver, and I've tried copying/pasting the whole map over again. Didn't work. Can anyone help?
NOTE: This map was originally a cooked package that I had published from a camp, then deleted the .upk and .ini files and re-saved to make it a new file. Also, this has happened on both an outdoor (shown here) and an indoor map.
Bug #2 is that the Editor screen seems to be too small. The window won't display the "Play current level" button that allows you to play as if you were a character. More importantly, however, I can't find the "Cook/publish" button, and don't think that the command even exists in the toolbar (the one with File, View, etc.). Can anyone help with this too?
NOTE 2: These bugs didn't happen with the computers that I originally made the maps with. I'm not sure what changed.

The rainbow effect could be that it is trying to display materials that are too complex for your video card...or it could be something completely different.
If the editor screen is too small that probably means your display's resolution is too small. The only way around it is to increase the resolution of the monitor. UnrealEd is meant to be used on at least a 1280x1024 (1280x720 if widescreen) display. Otherwise, you lose things like Play Current Level, Publish Map, etc. off the screen.

I'm pretty sure my graphics card is fine. It's an nVidia 8500 GT. I dunno what else it could be, though.
The editor part is clarifying. I'm running at 1024x768 right now, but I can't get any higher. My monitor sucks. XD Do you know where the file/view/etc. bar command is for publishing, since I can't afford a new monitor?

I don't think there is an analogue in the menu. You'd think there would be, but I don't remember seeing one. Maybe something to add in a patch, Epic?

Hmmm... Then how am I supposed to finish my maps? *Shakes fist at Epic Games.* WHY DID YOU HAVE TO MAKE IT A RESOLUTION THAT'S THE NEXT STEP UP?!?!?!?! D,X

We have had similar issue has come up on a map in development, in our scenario it has to do with the number of textures on a given terrain. One too many and your see this rainbow effect.
Not sure of a workaround at the moment

You should be able to double click the window ( so it turns to windowed mode, vs the maximized mode) and then drag the window so you can see the icons that were offscreen. )
I know not good, but if you cant get a higher res at least its an option.

Tried that, didn't work.
Also, ViV_iD, would vehicles, lockers, etc add to the texture amount?

No it was independant as we had very few textures on the map. How many textures you got assossiated with the terrain?

Only one. However, I have a colossus (with light), a very low angled directional light, 2 turrets for each flag base, scorpions, a weapon locker with the Link Gun, Rocket Launcher, and Deployable Slow Volume Trap, a sniper rifle spawner, a jump pad, medium sized med pack spawners, a jump pad, a terrain-made jump, a terrain-made plateau, a terrain-made boundary, a skydome, water, and a killzone. Would any of that cause this problem?

Might be worth going back to a previous save and using another material, the gears of war post aboe may have the right idea.
The only thing I notice we had an island with water all around the outside, not sure if that had any influence to the same pattern.

I've tried going to a previous save, and the terrain just wouldn't look right without the sandy, barren feel.
Also, my map is literally a terrain in the middle of a water static mesh with a skydome overhead and a killzone underneath.
