Golden lancer idea

Just an idea but i think there should be a viral achievement in gears 2.if you kill somebody that has a gold lancer and pick it up,you unlock it for yourself and you also get an achievement.maybe only gears developers should have the golden lancer or the first 100 people to reach 1000 kills online should get it and if you kill any of them and pick it up,u get a golden lancer as well(they still keep theirs too),plus u get an achievement.or even if people that get limited edition are the only ones to get it,still if you kill them and take it,you get one of your own,achievement unlocked:bling bling

considering ALOT of people will get the limited edition just for the idea of getting a golden lancer.. i think most everyone will have it if all you have to do is take it from them to get it.

psh..if thats all i had to do i wouldnt bother getting the limited edition. but the developer idea sounds badass. theyd have to play alot to satisfy everyone though :D

I already pre-ordered Gears 2 before I heard about the golden lancer. I don't get it. Its kinda like Army of Two with the blinged out weapons (Not a fan of that game). Im sure it will look cool but Im an old school gamer so Id rather have a golden pistol than a Lancer. Kinda like The man with the golden gun. But come November 7th I'll be weilding a golden lancer and hopefully dominating chainsaw battles with it.

This game is going to be huge, so the amount of people that pre-order it is nothing compared to how many people/casual gamers will buy GOW2 days months and years after release. Not that high of a percent of the total players will have the gold lancer down the road.

My opinion, Epic wants to make a profit, and thats a good way to do it with the Limited Edition (theres probably gonna be a few of these at start, and epic might take them off of store shells).

No one from Epic has confirmed that there will be a golden Lancer for those who buy LE.
Only GameStop has. Last time I asked EbGames/Gamestop when Gear of War 2 would be out, they said November 1st.

I think it's listed as November 13th now on Gamestop or maybe it's the 15th. I'm at work now so I can't access the website but I think it was one of those dates.

For the record, my comments on this thread were made under the ASSUMPTION that Gamestop is right about the golden lancer LE thing. Just so it's clear, Epic itself has yet to make confirmation. However, they wouldn't let a big lie like that float around for long, so if it wasn't true, wouldn't they announce that it's just a rumor?

That's my logic, and I think it only makes sense that it equates to the golden lancer bonus being real.
