Should the retical turn red when the retical is pointed at the enemy if there is smoke between the enemy and you? Currently in Gears 1 it does I believe it should not.

I totally agree, but if its still in Gears 2 I won't be upset.

Yea. i dont think anyone is gonna be near the smoke considering the stun factor (aka bowling pins)

So do you get stunned by the blast effect of the smoke or the smoke itself?

Im pretty sure its the blast that sends them flying but there is also a new poision smoke grenade.

The reticule shouldn't turn red, as that would kind of defeat the purpose of moving in smoke cover.

I think they changed the Smoke grenade now so the reticule doesn't turn red, and I'd like to see what happens when you tag someone who's down.

Smoke grenade looks like its going to be really cheap and overpowered. Everyone will throw smoke grenades at eachother so they can knock a guy down and get an easy kill. I bet there gonna have to change it with an update.

Ya I think the reticule should turn red in the smoke.

I don't think it would kill the game for me, because really. If you throw down a smoke to keep a sniper from picking you off, he would have to have extremely quick reflexes to actually hit you in the smoke. Between that and sniping off-host, there's very little chance he could hit you. Same goes for lancer and other weapons, they don't have much of a chance to hit you. The flamethrower, on the other hand, would be the perfect anti-smoke weapon :D

That just gave me an idea.

You should be able to light the poison grenade cloud on fire with the Scorcher and create a giant ball of fire.

Ok, maybe you shouldn't, but the flame effects look sick so the more the better.

I think it should turn red... its saying there is an enemy there, even if you cannot see them doesnt destroy the game. It may be buggy/laggy though to get it exactly the smoke that blocks the red reticule...

I just know that for example on Gridlock to throw a smoke to help in picking up the boom is worthless because player just wait for the red retical and lancer you down. It seems to defeat the purpose of the smoke grenade.

I like to retical being red when you aim at a enemy in the smoke. Because i don't like smoke (i never use it).
And i killed a lot of people who where standing in their anoying smoke.
Smokers are annoying, they deserve to die, you must defeat them!

It should turn red to let you know you're hitting someone. If it doesn't turn red, what would be the point in shooting into smoke when you're not going to be sure if you're hitting someone? If it doesn't turn red, that would be making the game too realistic IMO.

I think it turns red if you hit them, but it's been a while since I watched those "leaked videos".

Smoke grenades will probably not be cheap and overpowered, contrary to popular opinion. I think there's going to be a limit to how far you fall before you die, so if you try to knock yourself off the map you'll just end up killing yourself.

But there's always a way out of any map, so don't get too worked up about it.

You've only got one smoke grenade, and that equals ONE CHANCE TO GET IT RIGHT. That means you can pull the stun trick once per round, unless you happen to kill somebody who has smokes equipped or find one on the ground at the frag spawn where somebody dropped it.

It's actually looking pretty balanced. You'd have to be pretty close game-wise to get rag-dolled. :p
